Owen and Donna discuss what happened, news spreads about Pam, and Katie and Nick discuss telling Bridget their secret.

Owen follows Donna outside the cabin where she apologizes for not going through with their interlude, explaining that she’s married and loves her husband. She hears noises and freaks out thinking the bear or Pam is still out there. Owen tells her she has nothing to worry about, but assures her that even if Pam does come back, he won’t let her hurt her. Donna says she was so wrong about him and says this is the first time in weeks she has felt safe. She compares his confidence and ability to make her feel safe to Eric. She says she was so dependent on Eric and understands why he made it a point to tell her to move on with her life if anything happened to him. She thought he would come out of the coma and things would be the way they used to be, but now she doesn’t know if that will happen. She says Eric made her significant and Owen assures her that she is. Donna says “thank you” doesn’t seem like enough for what he did for her. She looks to the sky and says if Eric’s spirit is up there, he’s grateful to him too. Owen wonders if she’s waiting for a message from Eric and she says, even though it’s silly, she is. They see a shooting star and Donna thinks it’s a sign from Eric saying, “Life is meant to be lived; to be loved” and she kisses Owen. Donna says they better get back down the mountain and then looks at her wedding ring. Owen tells her she has every reason to hope Eric will get better and she should keep it up because her prayers might be answered.

Bridget, Felicia, Rick and Taylor gather as Ridge, Brooke and Stephanie tell them what happened with Pam. Rick and Taylor ask if knowing what caused Eric’s heart attack can help him, but Bridget says no. Stephanie says the police are watching Eric and Donna in case Pam comes back and even though she isn’t making excuses for her, Pam is mentally ill so they should have some compassion for her. Taylor agrees, but Rick doesn’t think Pam’s illness is an excuse. Steph understands that, but says Pam poisoned Eric for her. Taylor concurs saying Pam drugged Eric hoping Donna would be framed for it because they were the two people who hurt Steph the most. Steph thinks she should have been more aware that Pam hadn’t been taking her meds.

Katie is at the hospital and Dr. Patrick says he can’t in good conscience encourage her to continue with the pregnancy. He tells her that Dr. Caspary told him she is already showing signs of pre-clampsia and she has already had one rejection episode. He says if she continues with the pregnancy it could cost Katie her life. Katie appreciates what he has to say, but the pregnancy means everything to her and she will do whatever she has to in order to bring the baby full term. He says in that case he’ll see her at her next appointment. Nick comes in and the doctor tells him to consider the fact that the baby could cost Katie her life.

After the doctor leaves Katie tries to convince Nick that things will be okay and says they are through the first trimester. She reminds him that they promised to tell Bridget as soon as the baby was safe and asks if he is ready to do that. Nick says she has to be told, but doesn’t know how she will react. Katie says love and understanding has been the one guiding force through everything. She has to believe that in time Bridget will come to understand everything and accept it, especially since one day the two of them might be raising the baby. Nick insists nothing will happen to her, but asks if there’s something he needs to know. Katie says hers is not a regular pregnancy, however, she will give birth to this child, but she doesn’t know anything beyond that. She says they have to accept that she might not be around to watch the baby grow and urges him to accept it. She says she’s come to terms with it because she knows Nick will be there for the baby. She truly believes if she’s not there, Bridget will take her place. Nick says he will tell Bridget tomorrow.

Stephanie goes to visit Eric who is unconscious again. She says she wants Eric to forgive Pam and believes that something good could come from this. She says there isn’t anything she won’t do to try to bring him back even if they aren’t married. She is there for him and believes he can come back and won’t rest until he does. She puts her head down and Eric’s eyes start to rapidly move while still closed.
