Owen bolsters Donna’s spirits, Brooke tries to make Donna reconsider, the Forrester siblings try to figure out how to overrule Donna, and Rick scrambles to keep the company together.

The press and Forrester family stand stunned as Donna announces that she will be running Forrester Creations. Jared points out that Ridge has the most designing experience, but Donna corrects him saying Brooke actually does. Donna says she is doing what Eric would have wanted her to do. Thorne wonders if he would have wanted his children fired and Donna says yes, until they are ready to act in their father’s best interests and not their own. She says Brooke and Rick will steer FC forward while Eric is gone. The press fire off a bunch of questions and Owen tells them that they need to leave and if anyone wants to talk to Donna they have to go through him. After the press leaves the Forrester siblings lash out at Donna for firing them while she retorts that they betrayed their father.
Later, Pam asks Rick what’s going on and Rick tells her to refer all calls to him or Brooke. She asks what happened in Eric’s office and Rick says she wouldn’t believe him if he told her. Pam says it has to be Donna and asks, “What’s the hot tamale done now?”

Still in the office, Donna asks everyone but Brooke to leave. Brooke says what Felicia did was wrong, but the company needs stability right now. Donna tells her to make all the calls she needs to, but Thorne, Ridge and Felicia aren’t staying. Ridge tells her that she has shown her true colors and Eric won’t tolerate what she’s done. He warns her to reconsider or else she will be out of the company and his dad’s life for good.
Pam continues to badger Rick about what’s going on and the siblings come out of the office. She asks what’s happening and Thorne tells her that Donna fired them. Felicia tells her aunt Pam to pack a bag because she’s probably next.

Owen tells Donna, “Good for you,” while Brooke asks her to reconsider. Donna refuses and Pam barges in yelling at Donna for firing Eric’s children. She asks if she’s getting fired too and Donna says it’s not what Eric would want, but she will be moving downstairs to general reception. Donna states that Owen will be taking care of all her needs.

Rick gets Pam to leave and Brooke asks Owen to follow so she can speak to her sister alone. Brooke argues Ridge’s case saying he had nothing to do with what Felicia did, but Donna doesn't think she can trust any of them. Brooke says Donna is very capable, but she cannot run FC the way that Ridge can.

At Ridge’s, Thorne sees that the word has spread over the Internet about the shakeup at FC. The brothers admonish Felicia for trying to bribe Owen into getting the goods on Donna and she defends herself saying she was fighting for the family. Ridge notes that her plan backfired and their father’s legacy is now in Donna’s hands. He says, “God help us all.” Felicia doesn’t understand why her scheme didn’t work because Owen seemed sleazy and greedy enough to go for it. She says either she read Owen completely wrong or he has another agenda because he didn’t even try to seduce Donna.

Owen listens as Pam offers her no comment to the many calls FC is receiving. Rick walks up on his cell phone and reminds Pam to refer all clients and buyers to him. He then asks Owen to have Donna call him ASAP because he needs more info so he can help keep a lid on this thing. After Rick walks away, Pam offers Owen one of her lemon bars and Owen thinks they’re “tasty.” He says there’s a kick to them though and tries to figure out what it is. He thinks it’s nutmeg and Pam says he’s right, but not about whom he associates with. She advises him to watch his back because Donna can be a devious monster. Owen tells her if she’s smart she won’t make an enemy of Donna.
As Donna and Brooke continue to battle, Owen comes in with a stack of messages and Donna says she needs to collect her thoughts before she calls people back and prepare a statement. Brooke thinks she and Ridge can handle this, but Donna says the two of them will handle it instead. Donna thinks Brooke, Owen, Marcus, Rick and her can run things until Eric comes back. Brooke doesn’t think that will go over well with Ridge and asks why she has to choose sides. Brooke doesn’t think Donna should be putting her energies into battling the Forresters and thinks she should be taking care of Eric instead. She offers to help her in any way she can, but tells her not to draw a line in the sand. Brooke thinks if Donna goes to Ridge and says she made a mistake he will come back and urges her to think about it. Donna agrees to mull it over and the sisters hug, as Owen looks on.
Brooke leaves Donna’s office and runs into Rick. Rick wants to talk to Donna because the buyers are freaking out. Brooke tells her son that Donna needs time to think because she knows she went too far.
The Forrester siblings discuss the situation and Ridge thinks Donna will reconsider, but Throne and Felicia wonder how she can go back now after firing them in front of the press. Ridge thinks she will say whatever she has to because she won’t want to explain to Eric that she ran his company into the ground while he is fighting for his life. Ridge gets an idea on how to stop Donna and leaves. Ridge’s phone rings and Thorne answers. Brooke tells Thorne that she thinks she got Donna to change her mind.

Owen tries to reassure Donna that she did the right thing, but Donna isn’t so sure. As Donna tries to back track, Owen bolsters her confidence saying she has a crack team at her disposal and all she has to do is let them work. He thinks they will all rally around her and Eric.

Brooke comes back in the office and says if they act quickly they can turn this around. She asks if Donna thought about what she said and Donna says her decision is final – Thorne, Ridge and Felicia are not welcome there. She does however need Brooke and says she can’t do this without her. Brooke looks disapproving at her sister and walks out.

Owen tells Donna she can do this and reminds her that Brooke didn’t know anything about the company either when she took it over from Eric. He talks her up saying how courageous and devoted she is. He gets more passionate and physically closer to Donna with every word saying she’s unlike anyone he’s ever known and he kisses her. Donna pushes him off and says it’s wrong, but Owen wonders why it feels so right then. Upset, Donna runs out of the office.
