A concerned wife's conversation with her assistant

Donna: (Sighs) (knock on door)

Owen: Hey, I just came into work, and I heard about eric. Look, donna, I'm so sorry. You must be worried out of your mind.

Donna: Yeah. Yeah, I am. But not just about eric. Ridge has taken over the company.

Owen: What--you mean he's just gonna handle things until eric recovers, right?

Donna: No, I mean taken control, legally.

Owen: Wait, how?

Donna: Ridge has been pressuring eric to give the company as a gift. Ridge and brooke would divvy up the shares among the family and then take over the business.

Owen: Wait. While eric does what?

Donna: Retires, supposedly.

Owen: It doesn't seem like he'd be ready.

Donna: No, he's not. This is not what eric wants, owen. And I have to wonder if the stress caused his heart attack. I mean, ridge went to a lawyer. They drew up papers. And he shoved it in his face when he got back from the trip. Yes, eric agreed to it, and ridge signed the paper. So that's it, right? There's nothing I can do to stop this from happening.

Owen: Now wait a minute. Where are the papers? I mean, may I see them?

Donna: It's right here. (Sighs)

Owen: All right, this one's got ridge's signature. Is there another copy with eric's?

Donna: No. Eric didn't sign anything. He gave ridge a verbal agreement. But--but he changed his mind right before he passed out. Look, I know it was his intention to give the company to ridge someday, but not yet. Not yet. But this is a done deal, right? I mean, eric's gonna wake up and find out that he lost his company, and it's all my fault.

Owen: No, donna, wait. This may not be a done deal yet.

Donna: How am I gonna stand up to ridge?

Owen: There may be a way.

Donna: Owen, are you telling me I could stop this? Ridge is so much savvier than I am about this.

Owen: Luckily, you have an assistant who's no slouch either.

Donna: Wait, if you could help-- I mean, I just-- I feel like I'm so in over my head. I--

Owen: You need to find eric's documents, see who he designated to make decisions for him if he's incapacitated.

Donna: Well, they might be in the safe here in the office.

Owen: Wait, do you have the combination?

Donna: Well, of course I do. Eric trusts me with everything.

Owen: Well, I'm gonna lock the door just in case.

She's so concerned about Eric, please. She's so worried about what others in the company are saying about her.

Its true that Ridge does love his Dad and the company, but since the first day he has been wanting to be in control...
Dumma does love Eric, she has millions of reasons for doing so $$$$$$$$$

People keep posting about the fact that Ridge is not Eric's biological father, but for the first 35 or more years of Ridge's life it was believed that he was, therefore Ridge and Eric have a bond and Eric is Ridge's father because he has been in that role for years...You can't change that. In spite of all their faults, neither man can forget their history and share a love for each other.

Rynomom... I agree 100%, Ridge IS Eric's son and entitled to run the company (blood or no blood, they both agreed to that)...

In addition, Eric and Ridge had a verbal agreement which is a binding contract. Of course, no one else was there but Donna has admitted three times (to Owen, Ridge and Marcus)that Eric told her about the verbal agreement. Therefore, I hope the judge rule in Ridge's favor. If Ridge doesn't get the company, I hope FC goes under while Ridge's thrive at his own company (hopefully without the name Brooke or Logan in the new company name).

Ryno, I was laughing so hard while reading your comments, then there are so few of us who post on soaps.com who are seeing things in this way. It is so, that Donna is trying to be Erwimps champion... so that when he wakes up, she can brag about being there and doing everything to protect his interest, digging her nasty self deeper in his gratitude and good graces...

Ridge is a Forrester, this nastiness about him being a Marone is just pulling at threads and hoping that the cloth will unravel. I find it somewhat disgusting. The man was 40 when he found out that he was a Marone, Stephanie found that out a couple of years before and opted not to tell Erwimp, because the news would crush him. There was some buzz about it back then but Erwimp told him that he is his son... which means for me, that no one has the right to undermine this relationship.

On the same note, Erwimp says he loves Donna, I believe him, too! She gave him the feeling that he is a man, that she is his support system against the big bad world and she is young and sexy.. naturally he loves her...

His Kids need to accept that, because they know that it is true... he loves every woman he sexes... why should Donna be different.

The problem is, that this relationship has been detrimental to the growth of the company. Not only because of the bad press, but because Erwimp has given this woman power to overstep the board of directors, to spend money that isn't planned, to make PR promotions that say nothing about the corporate image concerning staying true to their customers, working with interdisiplinary teams, perspective wins for the shareholders, or anything that will make the NEW Mrs. Erwimp interesting to investors, buyers, fabric companies... the works........ Her PR is just promoting her... that she was the inspiration for Erwimps last collection.. that she is good for the old man...

Sorry, he put her in the public eye and she is telling everyone... me, me, my influence, myself.

No one is buying this stuff.. and that is where the problem lies.

If Brooke went PR program, they would all be interested in what she has to say... she is the public darling and not her wannabe sister.

Erwimp is so whipped, that he can't see the forest for all the trees. He thinks that his love for this woman will be accepted by the business world and if not, it is their tough cookies... but that doesn't work.

JJ and Co. are trying to pull up their public image, it would have been smarter to snow the old man, to tell him that they are happy that he is happy, to get Ridge on as Partner and then to go in for the kill... but the problem is that they are seeing that their numbers are slipping fast and are acting fast.. too fast... the takeover was not planned properly... JJ as his father, thinks does not think best in bed, rather in the boardroom.

That is the problem for my understanding.

Donna needs to sit back and weigh out the pros and cons of fighting this thing. She needs to keep the team together and to play her game smart if she want to win in the end. She needs to check Owen and Marcus out, put JJ and Brooke in the public eye, get Stephanie on board and sit her but in the hospital, go and join a fundraiser about heart awareness, bring in positive publicity surrounding herself and be quiet... but... we are talking Donna here, her best ideas produce havoc at the very least.. and that will be her downfall.

One last thought before signing off for the weekend, I have to love JJ playing JR Ewing when he vowed: I don't care if she is Brooke's sister, I am going to take her down!

Go JJ!!! Leave the company, take the family and the loyal staff and start your own thing... get da Mama back in the public and behind the desk... if Nix could do it, you can do it better.... Go, Fight, Win and say adieu to FC once and for all, because it never ever belonged to you or your siblings anyway!

Love you all, have a great weekend... kisses and sunshine sends you Outland! with lots and lots of love!

See you next week and stay as you are,

BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL!
