Owen finds the key to Donna getting the upper hand; Steffy, Ridge and Rick take turns visiting Eric; Marcus and Steffy find time to flirt; and Donna lays down the law with Ridge.

Donna and Marcus head into Eric’s office after greeting a couple of employees in an upbeat manner. Donna tells her son that she can’t afford to look weak in front of anyone. Marcus thinks they’ll understand, but Donna says she’s a target as it is when Eric is with her and it’s even worse for her now that he’s not. Marcus tells his mom that he’s there for her and Donna is thrilled that he finally called her mom.

Steffy sits at her grandfather’s bedside and talks about her feelings for Marcus. She recalls their kiss and starts to cry saying she wishes she could talk to him about this. She thinks Eric could convince Ridge to give Marcus a chance the way he did. Ridge enters and says Eric can feel them there. Steffy thinks so too and hugs her dad. She then leaves to give Ridge a moment alone with his father.

Ridge sits down and grabs Eric’s hand. He assures Eric that things are fine at the office, but says it’s a hell of a big job filling his shoes. However, he’s been trained to do it since he was a little kid and he will make Eric proud. Ridge says he knows he has his blessing.

Owen comes to work and asks how Donna’s doing with Eric in the hospital. She says she’s worried, but is more upset over Ridge trying to take over the business. Owen seems to be just as outraged as Donna as they discuss the matter. Owen asks to see the papers and notes that Eric’s signature isn’t on it. Donna says Eric verbally agreed to the transfer, but then changed his mind. Donna thinks this is a done deal and blames herself. Owen looks through the papers and says there may be a way for her to stand up to Ridge. Owen says they need to find Eric’s personal documents to find out who Eric gave his power of attorney to. Donna says his papers are in the safe and Eric gave her the combination. Donna opens the safe and Owen looks through the papers that are in it. He finds a document that gives Donna Eric’s power of attorney, therefore Ridge’s signature on the document means nothing and Donna is in charge of FC. She has the legal right to make decisions for Eric and can stop the transfer of ownership. Donna is conflicted because she knows what Eric wanted, but she also thinks Ridge will do a great job running FC while Eric is incapacitated. Owen tells her to safe guard the document giving her power of attorney and Donna thanks him for his help. She leaves to see Eric and Owen sits down at Eric’s desk and looks at the document.

Steffy comes up to the Forrester rooftop to see Marcus and he gets a big grin on his face. They talk about Eric and she feels bad because she can’t have a conversation with her grandfather. Marcus thinks it helps just talking to him and thinks maybe he should talk to him too. Steffy wonders what he’d say and Marcus tells her he’d say he just kissed his granddaughter and now he can’t get her off his mind. They joke about how much of a distraction she is and Steffy playfully gets up to leave, but Marcus grabs her close and they get more serious.

Ridge leaves Eric’s room and Rick sits by his dad’s bedside. He tells Eric how much he needs him and asks if he really wants Ridge to run the company. He asks for a sign so he can know for sure, but Eric just lies there. Donna walks in the room with a box of Eric’s things. She thanks Rick for being so supportive of them as a couple and Rick says he knows what it’s like to be in love with someone when your whole family is against you.

After Rick leaves, Donna talks to Eric and tells him how much she hates being away from him. She talks about the power of attorney and is clearly touched at how much he believes in her. She wants to do the right thing by protecting the company, but she also knows how much he loves his children. She start to cry and Ridge comes in the room. He says he’ll come back, but Donna wants him to stay. Donna says she can’t fall in line like a good little soldier and she will fight him by doing whatever it takes to protect her husband. Donna tells a shocked Ridge that she has Eric’s power of attorney, but he says they are a tight family and they handle things in a civil manner. He says power of attorney isn’t needed between a father and son, but Donna insists she will do what’s best for Eric. Ridge doesn’t even want to talk about the company, he just wants to see his father through this rough time. He says he loves his father and Donna doesn’t doubt that.
Ridge leaves and Donna asks her Honey Bear to help her do the right thing. She hopes he meant what he said about his wishes and promises when he comes back, FC will be his to run. But all she really wants is for him to come back to her.

Ridge watches and listens from the window and thinks, “Honey Bear? How sickening!” He thinks to himself that Donna is phony and even if she is Brooke’s sister, he will take her down!
