Nick, Donna, Brooke and Bridget say their goodbyes to Katie, Bridget gets some good news and Ridge makes a power play where Forrester Creations is concerned.
Nick, Bridget, Donna and Brooke all sit at Katie’s bedside the morning after the prom. Brooke holds a damp cloth to Katie’s forehead and worries she’s slipping away. Donna talks to Stephen on her phone who says his flight has been cancelled due to bad weather. Brooke pours herself some water and Donna asks how she’s doing. They discuss their sister and Brooke thinks it’ll take a miracle, but Bridget won’t accept it and urgently goes to check Katie’s latest test results on her computer. Nick says she’s already done that and takes her in his arms.
Bridget sends off some blood samples to the lab via courier and Nick and Brooke leave the room so Donna can be alone with Katie. Donna talks to Katie about Marcus who thinks his aunt is an incredible person. Donna says Katie is the only person she’s confided in about her son and promises to tell Eric very soon, but she wishes Katie could be there when she does. Donna says Katie always keeps her pointed in the right direction and that she’ll miss her.
Brooke returns to the room asking if there’s any change. Donna says no and Brooke thinks it’s a blessing that she’s unconscious. Brooke asks if Donna remembers when Katie was brought home from the hospital as a baby, but Donna was too young. Brooke says she was a gift from God and now he wants her back. She says the angels will be really happy, especially one in particular. She points out that Katie was always Storm’s favorite and he is waiting for her.
Nick sits by Katie’s side and Bridget returns from sending off the blood samples. Bridget tells Brooke she was so sure she had figured something out, but she was wrong. Nick and Brooke leave so Bridget can be alone with her aunt. Bridget sits down and apologizes for not coming through for Katie. She wishes she could be as brave as she is, but the thought of letting her go is too much. She notes how hard Katie has fought and how strong she is. Nick comes back saying her phone was buzzing and Bridget leaves the room hoping it’s word from the hospital.
Nick sits down with Katie and says they will look at this as a new beginning and a celebration of the time they had together. He thanks her for that time as Donna and Brooke come back in the room. Bridget also returns and says the lab emailed her Katie’s test results which show improvement! The Logans celebrate while Nick longing looks at Katie. Katie opens her eyes and Nick passionately says her name. Katie sees Nick with a bright light behind him and asks, “Am I in Heaven?”
Ridge gathers Thorne, Felicia, Ashley, Phoebe and Steffy together and says the future of Forrester Creations is right here in this room. Phoebe wonders why an emergency meeting has been called and Ridge passes out recent sales figures to everyone. Ashley notes there’s been a huge drop in sales and Ridge says even though Eric’s latest designs were critically acclaimed, they didn’t translate into sales. They blame Eric’s marriage to Donna and cite reports that people aren’t happy with the young line or Eric marrying a much younger woman. Felicia says their clients want beauty, class and style and Donna doesn’t embody that. Felicia doesn’t think Donna belongs in the company and Ridge wonders when it comes to Donna, what will happen next?
Marcus knocks and enters the room with a delivery. Thorne takes it from him and introduces Marcus to everyone. Felicia remarks that he was working at Storm’s memorial service and they all make polite small talk. Marcus apologizes for interrupting and leaves. The group discusses Marcus and Ridge says hiring him was Donna’s idea. No one understands why Eric would hire him without experience and Ashley wonders what Donna’s connection is to Marcus. Steffy says it looks like Marcus is doing a good job, but Thorne is bothered that Donna is using her influence to get people hired at Forrester. Ridge asks if they will all agree to take a stand against Donna and everyone confirms that she is hurting Forrester Creations. Ridge says when it comes to Eric and Donna’s marriage, that’s Eric’s business, but when it comes to the company, that’s another story. Ridge declares that Donna is out and mother is back in, as Marcus stands outside the door eavesdropping.
