"Goodbye Eric. Be Happy." Friday, May 09 2008

Donna and Eric move forward. Ashley visits Katie.

At the Forrester Mansion everyone awaits Eric's response at the altar. Stephanie whispers to Pam, "He can't. He just can't." Eric turns to Donna and tells her that he is sorry. "I should have more clarity on a day like this. You have changed my life." A confused Donna breathes, "What are you saying?" He says, "I'm saying I will. I love you!" As the Minister pronounces them husband and wife and they share an enthusiastic kiss and embrace, Felicia looks anxiously at her mother, who appears to be shell-shocked! Afterward, Pam, Kristen and Thorne commiserate. Ashley approaches Ridge to say goodbye. Outside on the terrace, Felicia finds Stephanie by herself and worriedly asks if she is alright. Suddenly, Stephanie pushes past saying she needs to go back in there! Pam eagerly awaits a classic Stephanie outburst, but is surprised when Stephanie grabs a glass of champagne and makes a toast to the happy couple. She tells Eric that their marriage didn't work out for many reasons, but he is very special. She then urges Donna to appreciate what a wonderful man she has married. Raising her glass she says "Best wishes and Bon Voyage!"

At the hospital, Katie tells Nick he doesn't need to feel obligated to visit her. He denies that he feels that way. She claims that she just can't talk to him about the things that have happened to her and to her family. "You can't fix me, Nick. No one can!" Nick tells her that he knows what she is doing pushing everyone away. "You want to hide, but you can't hide from what your brother did!" He claims to have felt the same thing inside before. She tells him he should be at home with Jack, and then points out how lucky he is to have Bridget. He sighs. Katie then asks why no one will admit the truth - Storm's death was not an accident! She then tells Nick she's tired and doesn't want to talk anymore. Nick gently says that no one can tell her how to feel about this - only how they feel. "We're all very happy that you're still around!" As Nick brushes her cheek with his hand. Ashley comes in to see Katie. Katie asks if Donna and Eric got married. Ashley smiles that they did! Ashley then says that Brooke told her that she was having a hard time accepting what Storm did. She says she wanted Katie to know that she holds no bad feelings about Storm. She explains that Storm was only showing her the gun to prove that he was not a monster. Katie realizes that Ashley was never in danger and that she misunderstood. "I grabbed the gun! I pulled the trigger!" Nick holds her as she sobs and Ashley leaves saying she is sorry. Katie asks Nick to leave but he won't. Katie wails, "I killed him, Nick. I killed my brother!"

As Stephanie makes her way quietly out of the house, Eric stops her and says he's sorry. Stephanie says she is too. Nearby, Pam cries. Stephanie comes over to say goodbye to Pam and the kids. She presses them to stay and celebrate with their father and his wife. Kristen says they don't want to, but Stephanie insists. Ridge says he'll walk her out, but she says she wants to go on her own. Outside at the car, Stephanie looks up at the house and muses that it all belongs to someone else now! Back inside, Eric and Donna watch his kids' long faces and laugh. Eric says they'll invite his children back to the house someday - as soon as they lose the sad faces. As Thorne suggests to his siblings that they go and get drunk, Stephen notes that their mother showed a lot of class today in the way she acted, perhaps they should try it. Ridge laments that it won't be the same in the house without Mother. Eric meanwhile, asks Donna if she is happy. She says she truly is, and they share their first dance as newlyweds. Outside, Stephanie hears the music and peeks inside. As she sees the couple dancing, she remembers a time when she and Eric danced together many years before. She then sadly says, "Goodbye Eric. Be happy."
