Nick gets what he wants from Katie. Bridget breaks down. Katie's words shock her sisters!
At the hospital, Nick pops in to see Katie. He has brought her 'pretend' pistachios and offers to patch in a bottle of scotch to her IV! She refuses to crack a smile at his joking, however, and he sighs with concern. Meanwhile, Bridget is looking for Nick at his house, seemingly very stressed out and upset. She calls out, and when she receives no answer, decides to head upstairs. Back at the hospital, Nick continues to chatter away to the unresponsive Katie, until finally, he is able to bring about a slight positive change in her facial expression. He tells her he's going to go and gives her a kiss on the forehead, warning her to 'go easy on the nurses!' Outside the room, Brooke thanks him for making her sister smile!
Eric and Donna embrace at the Forrester Mansion. She has tears in her eyes as she discusses Katie and Storm. They agree that they are glad they are getting married the next day. Just then, Rick comes into the room. As Donna leaves to visit her sister, both men ask her to give their best to Katie. After she leaves, Eric confides to Rick that the fallout from this tragedy is bound to hit the Logan family very hard! Rick asks about the wedding ceremony and Eric explains that it's up to Donna. Katie wants her to go through with it, but Eric isn't sure it's a great idea - it should be the happiest day of Donna's life! Rick says he sees the way they are together, and sometimes all you need is love to get you through from day-to-day! Rick offers to make calls if need be, and Eric thanks him. He continues to wonder if this is the best idea. Suddenly, Eric asks if Rick would stand up for him at his wedding. Rick says he'd be honored!
Nick arrives home to find Bridget sobbing inside his house. She says she can't believe what Storm did! Nick realizes that she needs to grieve and takes her in his arms as she cries. "I've got you." As Nick sits her down on the sofa, he wonders if she has eaten anything lately. As he gets up to prepare some eggs, she grabs Nick and asks him not to leave her. She suddenly breaks down, telling Nick that she is responsible for what Storm did! She told him there was no hope, it was her words that pushed him to make the decision that he did! Nick takes a hold of Bridget roughly and tells her that this is nonsense! She is not responsible for what Storm did to himself, and Katie is alive because of her! Bridget humbly explains to Nick that he is giving her too much credit - she is a doctor, it's her job! Nick says he'll put her on a pedestal if he likes! They agree that something special happened in Katie's room when the heart was transplanted. Bridget says she hopes it will keep beating. Nick shares with Bridget that he got a smile out of Katie today! Bridget grins and they share a kiss.
Brooke goes into Katie's hospital room and tries to be perky and optimistic, but Katie is having none of it! Brooke concedes that she knows Katie is still thinking about Storm! She advises her to realize that Storm's life was in turmoil, and now he doesn't have to suffer anymore! She notes that Katie being alive is exactly what Storm wanted! Katie suddenly interrupts Brooke's talk of miracles, and orders her to "Stop! Just stop!" Brooke tells Katie that the only thing holding their father together as he makes arrangements for Storm's memorial service is the knowledge that Katie will be as good as new someday! Donna comes in right then, and Brooke tells her that physically Katie is doing well, but she is still upset about Storm. Donna tells her that Eric and Rick send their best wishes! She laughs that everyone is asking about her - even Stephanie! Donna then explains that she would like to postpone her wedding until Katie is better. Katie blurts that she'll never be better - she should be dead! Donna begs her not to say that! She laments that Storm won't be around to walk her down the aisle, but says it is wonderful that he is still alive inside Katie! "Our brother is a hero!" Katie, through gritted teeth, replies, "Stop! Our brother is not a hero!" Donna is taken aback that Katie would speak that way about Storm after what he did for her! Katie explains that she feels there is no heroism in killing yourself. "Don't ever call him a hero again! Not to me!"
