Rick Testifies!

Wednesday, June 20 2007
Ridge's trial begins, Christine isn't granted a delay and Rick walks into the courtroom.

The press is going nuts as Taylor arrives at the courthouse for Ridge's trial. Christine and Stephanie are already there and Eric, Felicia and Thorne show up moments behind Taylor. Christine tells the family that she is hoping the judge will grant her a delay so that she can have more time to prepare, but Eric says that they have to prepare themselves for the reality that the trial starts today. Soon, the hearing gets underway and the DA objects to Christine's plea for more time. The judge agrees to hear Christine out, so she says that there is compelling evidence that Mr. McGrath committed suicide and she needs more time to prepare her case. The judge asks to see the evidence before he makes a decision, so Christine shows him Shane's cell phone with the text message to Phoebe.

At Forrester Originals, Rick is holding Phoebe and apologizing that he can't testify on Ridge's behalf. He says that he truly doesn't remember shooting Grant Chambers, and Phoebe is begging him to try harder! He promises that if he could remember, he'd run to the court house and do whatever he could to take away her pain. But if he lies under oath he'll end up in a cell next to Ridge. Phoebe tells him that the trial is starting right now and sadly slips out of the door.

Brooke has stopped by Bridget's beach house. She says that she was on the phone most of the night with her father talking about her pattern with men. She acknowledges that she bounces from man to man and she doesn't want to blame her father for abandoning her when she was young anymore. She says that she is ready to change her pattern once and for all. Bridget tells Brooke that she is proud of her.

"Phoebe this is goodbye, I love you forever, but I won't be bothering you anymore," Christine reads the text message to the judge. The DA contends that Shane was likely shot before he could finish the message. The judge agrees that the message is too vague. He denies the motion for delay, and then Christine pulls out her next stalling tactic. She appeals that the judge should bar the state from using Ridge's prior record based on new testimony. When the DA objects, the judge gives Christine the chance to explain. She says that Ridge gave a false confession in the Grant Chamber's shooting case years ago -- to protect a minor named Rick Forrester. The DA protests fervently, but Christine says that she is prepared to call an eye witness professional - Dr. Taylor Hayes. The judge agrees to give Ms. Blair a little leeway by allowing her witness to take the stand.

Once Taylor is sworn in, Christine asks the mental state of the now grown Rick Forrester -- who actually shot Grant Chambers. Taylor says that he has repressed the memory. The DA suggests that he doesn't remember it because he didn't do it! She goes on to remind the court that Ridge pleaded guilty AND Grant Chambers agreed with his story. She continues to pound away at the defense's new theory that Ridge didn't shoot Grant. The judge finds the evidence insufficient -- unless Rick Forrester himself is able to testify.

Brooke goes to see Rick and he sarcastically says, "Right on schedule" as he sees her approaching. He tells his mother that he won't go down to the courthouse and be Ridge's sacrificial lamb. Brooke begs him to think back to when he was a kid. When she can see that it's not working, she asks him to do it for Phoebe so that she won't lose her father. After Brooke leaves, Rick recalls Phoebe's begging. Then, he practices saying, "I shot Grant Chambers" in different ways (to see if it sounds convincing).

The court has adjourned for a few minutes and the family worries whether Christine was able to do any good. The judge comes back into the room and Phoebe begs the judge not to convict her father. Just as the judge is about to hold Phoebe in contempt of court, Rick comes in and says that he has no idea who shot Shane McGrath, but he knows who shot Grant Chambers. "Ridge didn't shoot him. I did," he boldly says.

I'm proud of Rick for some reason. I hope to see he and Ridge get close because of this!

I certainly hope that Rick really does remember and is not doing this for that whiny, snot-nosed brat. If he doesn't remember, he's gonna look stupid under cross examination.

Hmmm, so Brooke finally realizes she has a pattern with men. I still don't understand how somoeone can blame a parent for their actions when they become adults. It seems as though when you grow up you would want to do the opposite.

Maybe Ridge will get off with some community time and he and Brooke and their son (RJ)can be a family. Maybe Ashley will find love with Thorne.

Hooray for Rick..I don't like the character but it's cheap entertainment to watch this SL unfold...at least Constantine wasn't on today..he is less appealing by the minute...we still need some more OOMPH to get this soap moving along, a nice murder or three would b cool...so can someone kill stephanie please???

Where is Late in KY??? You are needed on this one!!!

Okay, number one, there is NO WAY they would let Taylor testify as an expert witness when she was once married to and his children by Ridge!!! How stupid do these idiotic writers think we are? Number two, Taylor is a conflict of interest in this case!! Number three, what happened 50 years ago is NOT relivant in this case whatsoever!!! Number four, we all know how this will play out with Rick testifying and Idge will get off once again!!! No one ever does time on this show no matter who they get drunk and kill, rape, murder, etc......>) Brooke, Nick and baby forever!!!!

LLLLLLOOOOOOOOOLLLLLL! Late in KY has spoken!!!

Aunt Keedlee, this show is growing more pathetic and "Passionslike" by the day. We have mixed up eggs, drunk murderers running around, people ditching bodies and getting no time, what is next? Since Idge didn't kill Shane, he still hid the body, covered the crime and so did his Sea Hag of a mother. There IS such a charge as abuse of a corpse and conspiracy. Why on earth would they let Taylor of all people testify? I mean the JUDGE should have objected!!!! Where is Pam and Ann? Bring Pam on to claim Eric, put Ashley with Thorne, Taylor with Idge and Popeye with Brooke!!!!

Brooke didn't let me down, I KNOW her pattern, I have watched this show since it first aired. If my father abandoned me I would have men issues too!! Go Brooke!!! They are only talking about it now, so that when Taylor hands over Brookes' and Nicks' baby she can tell Nick, her past made her like she used to be!!! You'll see Nick, Brooke, baby make 3 forever!!!! Go Brooke, love my girl Brooke!!!!!
