Nick didn't sleep all night and Taylor is concerned about him. He says that he was able to put together the pieces of Shane's murder and he confronted Ridge with it last night. He explains that somehow Stephanie got involved and helped to cover up Ridge's part in it. Nick tells Taylor that Ashley contends that Ridge had an emergency phone call from Sydney that kept him away from their date that night. So, a simple look at the Forrester phone records could implicate Ridge. He wants to force Lt. Baker to reopen the investigation. Taylor's head is reeling from the facts that are falling out in front of her. She asks Nick to give her the chance to speak to Ridge directly. She says she will be able to tell if he's lying by the look in his eyes.

Over at Forrester, Ridge is telling his mother that after talking to Phoebe and then Ashley, Nick is onto him. Stephanie says that she thinks she handled Ashley at least. In any case, she tells Ridge that he should leave town…today.

Phoebe and Rick are at Insomnia. Rick tells her that he doesn't think Ridge would go so far as to kill someone. But still, he can't help but remember an incident from years ago involving a guy named Grant Chambers. Before he can explain, Felicia finds them and says the phone is ringing off the hook because there's video of them singing circulating on the internet. C.J. joins them with his laptop and says that they've had thousands of hits, isn't that great? As Rick watches the video clip he tells C.J. that using their relationship to promote his coffee - without their consent - isn't cool.

Meanwhile, a record producer is in his office searching the net. He finds a karaoke performance that has had 5,000 hits in less than 12 hours, so he clicks through to watch it. He is impressed by the singers and then reads the blurb about the "kissing cousins" that make sweet music together. He investigates further and learns that the female is the model from Forrester Originals and is impressed with her beautiful face.

Taylor pays a visit to Forrester Originals and asks Stephanie where Ridge is. She says that she needs to hear the truth about Shane McGrath from him. Stephanie contends that they told everything they know to the police. Taylor explains that Phoebe thinks that Ridge was at the office late that night, right? And then Ashley told Nick the same thing. Stephanie comes clean and admits that she told a little white lie to Ashley. Ridge didn't really have a phone call from Sydney that night; he was just too upset about losing Brooke to go on a date, that's all. Taylor still insists that she speak with Ridge. Stephanie tells her that her new husband is brain washing her. When pushed on Ridge's whereabouts, Stephanie says that Ridge is in Paris on business, and Taylor sadly says that is all the answer she needed.

Storm has come over to Nick's to hear his new theory. Storm suggests that they call Lt. Baker over and lay their theory out for him BEFORE they go to the press. If the Lt. cooperates and looks into it, he can avoid some ugly media attention.

Rick has left for work and Phoebe is hanging around Insomnia when the record producer comes in looking for her. She recognizes him as a famous music producer named Constantine. He says, "I've been waiting for a girl like you."

Stephanie goes to Ridge and tells him that Taylor is asking a lot of questions and he needs to go to Paris. Ridge says that he hates lying to everyone.

Taylor numbly walks in her front door and tells Nick that Ridge is on an overseas business trip. She is upset as she tells him that they are definitely hiding something. She says that Stephanie avoided eye contact and nervously tapped a pencil the whole time she was deflecting questions. Taylor is upset that the father of her children would set Nick up. Just then Lt. Baker arrives and Taylor tells him that she knows who killed Shane McGrath. "It was my ex-husband, Ridge Forrester."
