The Bold and the Beautiful's Jack Wagner Hosts Golf Classic!

Tuesday, March 31 2009

Jack Wagner (CBS)
Hosting the 3rd Annual Jack Wagner Celebrity Golf Classic, Jack Wagner (Nick, B&B) continues his efforts to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Held on April 21, the event will tee off at The Valencia Country Club in Valencia, California.

After losing his father to multiple myeloma and watching his brother’s continued struggle with leukemia, Wagner created this event to support the LLS’ mission, which is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life for patients and their families. The Golf Classic raised more than $600,000 in it’s first two years to fund critical cancer research and patient services. Their goal this year is to pass the $1,000,000 mark.

For his dedication and commitment to his charitable work for the Los Angeles Chapter of LLS, Wagner was presented with the Chairman’s Citation Award last year.

The event, which is not open to the public, will include breakfast, a shotgun start, the tournament, a Million Dollar Shoot Out, a cocktail reception, a silent auction, an awards dinner and a live auction. Past celebrities who have participated include, Kyle Lowder (Rick, B&B), hockey great Wayne Gretzky, former Olympian and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Bruce Jenner, actor Joe Pesci, actress Heather Locklear and many others.

All proceeds from the Golf Classic will directly go to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Soaps.com congratulates Jack on his philanthropic work and wishes him luck on reaching his monetary goal.

I want to thank Jack for his efforts and participation in such a needed event. Leukemia is an awful disease and the person and their family suffer throught the chemotherapy, radiation and bone marrow transplants. I have personally lost a husband to ALL and anything that can bring attention to the need to find a cure for these diseases is appreciated.
