Moving On

Thursday, August 30 2007

Stephanie is barking orders on the telephone as Thorne tries to discreetly sneak out of the office so he won’t have to be alone with her. But she hangs up and sees him, wants to talk. He tells her he’s not in the mood to hear Donna-bashing, so if that’s all she’s going to do, she can save her breath. Stephanie tries to be a sympathetic mother, saying she understands that he’s lonely since losing Darla, but hooking up with Donna is not going to help. “You do not love Donna the way you loved your wife,” Stephanie insists. Thorne wants no part of this conversation and he tells Stephanie that Donna makes him happy. Then he gives Stephanie an unspoken ultimatum – either accept Donna as his wife or he’s done with his mother for good.

Stephanie Gets Emotional

Tuesday, August 14 2007

“For a man so obsessed with sex, you have a short memory,” Stephanie is saying to Eric as we join them again. “Our son is marrying a girl with more mileage on her than the Queen Mary!” Eric still sticks to his guns, saying that there’s nothing wrong with marrying Donna just for the comfort. Thorne enters silently, and sneaks up behind them, just as Stephanie is saying Thorne is “dim” for wanting this engagement. Eric tells him to come in and toast the engagement, but Thorne demands to be alone with Stephanie instead. Eric leaves and Thorne gets serious with Stephanie real quick, telling her to either support him or leave him alone. She calls him “adolescent” for using Donna to get back at her for not treating him the way he wanted to be treated when he was younger. She tries to point out how great Darla was and how Donna is so different from Darla. Thorne gets seriously peeved then, yelling about how Darla is gone and she’s not coming back. He’s hacked about how everyone is so in love with Ashley and Ridge, forgetting about the fact that Ashley slept with Ridge’s daughter’s boyfriend, and snarls at Stephanie about how women “love” Ridge, but they only “use” him.

Donna Hatches Nasty Revenge Plot

Friday, July 27 2007

Taylor is at Stephanie’s house for a visit. Immediately Stephanie starts fishing for information about Nick hiring Brooke. She tries to goad Taylor into being upset about the two of them working together, but Taylor quickly changes the subject. “What I know is that my husband is committed to me and my baby,” she says, and then adds that Stephanie should be spending her time right now worrying about her own child – Thorne. She tells Stephanie about what happened when she saw him and says that she doesn’t think he’s doing too well. Taylor rehashes the past a little bit, accepting responsibility for her part in what happened with Darla, but comes back to the bottom line, which is that Thorne has a problem. Stephanie seems genuinely shocked by this information, but Taylor presses on, telling Stephanie that she needs to keep an eye on him because he’s going to need help.

Thorne and Donna are still at the bar. Thorne has just ordered another drink and the bartender makes noise about cutting him off. Donna tells Thorne, “If I had a mother like Stephanie, I’d drink, too.” Thorne orders Donna a drink, too, and they move over to a table for two, where he continues to drink heavily. Thorne tells Donna to ignore Stephanie, but Donna says she can’t because of what Stephanie did to Brooke and her kids. Without realizing who she’s talking to, Donna says, “How would you feel losing someone you love the most in this world?” Realizing her mistake, she apologizes, but it’s too late. Thorne is back to feeling horrible again and talking about Darla. He says that when you lose someone you love, you pretend that you’re okay so your family and friends will think you’ve healed. Holding up his glass, he says, “All you have left is an empty glass of booze and a ruptured heart,” and then follows this by taking some more pills. Donna asks Thorne what those pills are. When he won’t tell her she gets huffy and gets up to leave. He jumps up to follow her and drunkenly falls over, landing in her arms. The bartender wants him out, so Donna volunteers to take him home.

Donna takes Thorne home and dumps him fully clothed into bed. Thorne complains about being thirsty and asks for water. Donna tells him she’ll bring him a glass of water and then she’s leaving. He’s restless on his pillow, repeating Darla’s name over and over again. Out in the living room, Donna is pouring the water when she notices a photograph of Stephanie on an end table. “Damn you Stephanie Forrester,” she says, “Everywhere I turn you’re there. I swear to God if it’s the last thing I do…” She trails off as she picks up the picture and starts to throw it across the room. But before she can throw it, she spots a photo of Thorne and Allie. “That’s it,” she says, a devious smile crossing her face. “That’s how I’ll get even with the witch.” She brings Thorne the water and takes the bottle of pills out of his hand. She sets the picture of Stephanie on the nightstand. In her head she hears Stephanie saying there’s nothing Donna can do to hurt her. Donna undresses and climbs into bed beside Thorne. He mumbles Darla’s name and Donna tells him everything is going to be alright. Then she begins to undress him, staring over his shoulder at the picture of Stephanie the whole time. She tells the picture, “Nothing I can do Stephanie? Just watch.” Then Donna begins kissing Thorne.

Phoebe Figures it Out!

Thursday, July 26 2007

Stephanie finds Thorne at the bar having lunch alone. She’s worried about him and gives him a little trouble about being alone, drinking, in a place where nobody would look for him. She asks how his blind date went the night before. Distraught, he says, “I wanted her to be Darla. But nobody can be Darla because Darla’s gone.” Then he tells her, angrily, that he just wants everyone to leave him alone. Stephanie takes his keys, tells him that she loves him, gives him a kiss, and leaves. No sooner is she out the door when Thorne is digging in his pocket again for his pills. He shakes a few into his hand and downs them with booze.

Back at the bar, Thorne has dug out pictures of Darla once again – one wedding picture and one close-up face shot. He’s drinking heavily. Donna enters and is immediately annoyed at the sight of another Forrester in her midst. She tries to sling some insults, but Thorne isn’t going to play. Instead, he asks her for a ride home since Stephanie swiped his keys. He starts to get up off the bar stool and falls into Donna instead. She catches him, but when he looks up at her face…he sees Darla’s face once again. She morphs back into Donna again, but Thorne is obviously shaken by what’s happening to him.

Stephanie Plays Hardball

Wednesday, July 25 2007

Thorne and Alanna are still partying down at Jean Claude’s preview at The Beach Club. Thorne is drinking like crazy, downing one champagne after another and visibly getting wilder as the evening wears on. Models are cruising around the room, showing off dresses, each of them stopping at Thorne and Alanna’s table. Alanna excuses herself from the table and Thorne is having a great time – eyeballing and flirting with the roving models – when suddenly a blonde model stops at the table. Thorne looks at her and sees Darla’s face on that model. After a second take, the model’s face becomes her own again, not Darla’s, but Thorne is visibly shaken. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a bottle of pills. Once again, he tosses a handful of them into his mouth and washes them down with champagne.

Shaken by “seeing” Darla’s face, and spurred on by booze and pills, Thorne gets ready to leave The Beach Club. But first he stops at Nick and Taylor’s table to “congratulate” them. But he’s more than a little wasted and gets surly with Taylor right away. “You think I’m enjoying myself,” he says. “Maybe it looks that way. Maybe it makes you feel better to think it. But nobody makes me as happy as Darla. And she’s gone.” He goes on to accuse Taylor of never loving him, and then spouts that he knows Taylor feels guilty for what she did. Things get more and more heated and it almost comes to blows between Thorne and Nick, as Nick stands to defend Taylor. A drunk and hostile Thorne is escorted out of the party.

Will Ridge Pop the Question?

Tuesday, July 24 2007

Thorne and Alanna enter The Beach Club ready to party. Immediately Thorne grabs a glass of champagne and wants to dance. Alanna excuses herself to “powder her nose,” leaving Thorne alone. He pulls out his wallet to pay for a drink and finds himself instead looking at a picture of Darla. Quickly he closes the wallet and pulls out a bottle of pills. He shakes a few into his hand and washes them down with a gulp of champagne.
