Jackie was brought to LA after Massimo had his accident. A former lover of his, she had kept the fact that her son, Nick, was also his, from him for years. Although she had an affair with Eric on arrival, she soon found her way back to Massimo and the pair wed. Things didn't go well however when, drunk, she was taken advantage of by Deacon Sharpe, who she was using to confirm the paternity of Nick's child with Brooke. When the paternity case blew up, Massimo threw her out when he became convinced that she had been unfaithful.
She went back to Deacon and began planning a future with him when her divorce was finalized. To her surprise, Massimo had a change of mind and decided that he wanted her back. With her son's encouragement, she decided to go back to her estranged husband and Deacon left town. The marriage seemed doomed to failure however and she soon rekindled her old affair with Eric. Expecting to make a life with him, she was appalled when he returned to Brooke. This return was short lived and Eric soon came back to call on Jackie once again. Finally, she agreed to be with him, only to have Felicia request that Eric and Stephanie reunite before she died. Believing this to be the right thing to do, Jackie agreed, but found herself incapable of actually making the break. This led to conflicts with Stephanie and a fight that would hurl Jackie off the stairs, onto the ground and into a coma. This altercation was witnessed by Donna and, with her word, Nick and Jackie managed to use the incident to take over Forrester Creations.
Subsequently, the incident became circumspect and the skeletons in Jackie's closet began to come out. It was revealed that she had prostituted herself when she was younger, a fact that caused her son to disown her. Stephanie exploited this scandal in public in a bid to steal the company back, but it backfired and caused both Nick and Eric to feel sympathy for Jackie. This has led her to renew her attempts to seduce Eric back into her life. In fact, she once made the mistake of trying to seduce Eric in front of Stephanie's sister, Pamela, and got tossed out!
Eric and Jackie still remain friendly, much to Stephanie's chagrin, and, if truth be told, Jackie is still in love with Eric and wouldn't mind having him all for her own.

Steffy goes to the hospital and Brooke follows. They both console Ridge and Bridget says there’s no change. Brooke tells Ridge he needs to stop beating himself up. Ridge says he didn’t want Eric to die and he wants him to get better. Ridge needs Eric to come back to them so he can show him how much he loves him. Jackie enters Eric’s room and is stunned by the sight of him. Brooke and Steffy leave and Jackie says she’ll leave too. Ridge tells her she can have some time with Eric and he and Bridget leave the two of them alone. A sad Jackie sits down and gently tells Eric, “None of this would have happened if you had made your life with me.”
At Nick’s, Jackie comes downstairs and talks to her son who is working. They discuss Jack and how he loves the ladies, especially Bridget and Katie. Nick says Katie doesn’t come around too often and Jackie thinks Nick must miss her. They talk about how wonderful both Katie and Bridget are and Jackie slyly says they have a lot in common.
