Stephen and Beth discuss Eric, and Beth is glad the family is all together. Stephen asks if they are truly together and if they are free of their past. Beth says there were forces they couldn’t control back then and Stephen admits he never felt like he could measure up to Eric Forrester. Beth reminds him that he is the man she married. Stephen says all he ever wanted was to be number one in her heart and Beth wonders if people really get second chances. Stephen says their daughters need them and the Logans can be stronger than ever before. He says they owe it to themselves to try again, but they can take it as slowly as she wants. Beth sees how much he has changed and Stephen says there is nothing stopping them now. Stephen says for the first time in his life he has let his animosity towards Eric go and that he and Stephanie have no power over him now. Beth is thrilled to hear that and Stephen says it’s his turn to hold the family together and even though they lost their son, they still have their daughters. Beth says the girls need him and she does too and they passionately kiss.
Stephen and Beth come in and are caught up on Owen getting arrested and Stephanie blaming Donna for what happened. Stephen rails at Steph and the rest of the Forresters for having it in for Donna and Donna runs out of the house. Stephen continues to defend his daughter as the Forresters throw out theories on how and why Donna was involved. Stephanie and Felicia ask Bridget if there could be an antidote for Eric since the pills caused his condition. Bridget says it’s not that simple, but now that the doctors have the lab reports, it will help.
Stephen and Beth come to see Donna at FC to take her out to lunch, but find her office empty. Stephen flashes back to catching Donna and Eric having sex on the couch and says this office brings back a lot of bad memories. He says Eric has cost their family a lot, but Beth says he has made their daughter happy. Stephen says, “Who knows how long that would have lasted.” Beth can’t believe he’s talking like Eric is already dead. Stephen says even if he did recover, Eric would eventually break Donna’s heart and go back to Stephanie. Beth wants Stephen to let it go because they were having a good time. Stephen thinks he has a right to be upset with Eric, but says he’s in a coma now so there’s nothing else he can do to their family. Beth hopes Eric gets better, but Stephen can't let go of all the heartache Eric has caused him and the family. Stephen realizes he’s letting this dark cloud hang over him and Beth says she’s surprised because he seemed like a different person now. Stephen says he is because they are home and he has never stopped loving her. He says he is free to be the man she has always wanted him to be and the man she deserves. He wants to take her in his arms and never let her go. Which he does as he kisses her.
Out in the garden where the ceremony will take place, Stephen tells Beth to relax because Katie has taken care of everything and she doesn’t need to worry about doing anything. Beth doesn’t want to be a distraction, but Stephen tells her that while she will distract him, when Bridget walks down the aisle, all eyes will be on her. They see Marcus and call him over. Marcus notes that they look happy and Stephen says they are. Beth tells Marcus that he is one of the reasons for their happiness.
Stephen gives Nick a pre-wedding father-in-law talk and tells him how after seeing him with Bridget and Katie, he’s realized how compassionate and generous he is. Nick can’t take all the credit, because the Logan women have had an impact on him.
Everyone filters around the pool and Eric sits down next to Beth. They discuss her condition and Eric says if there’s anything he can do…but Beth says he’s done it already by making Donna so happy. Beth thanks him for being so wonderful to her daughter and Eric grabs her hand, which Stephen takes note of.
Owen secretly watches as Marcus meets his grandparents. Marcus thinks it’s going to be cool having them as family and Stephen and Beth happily welcome him to the Logan clan. Across the pool, Bridget welcomes Pam to the party and Donna notices. She comes over and asks Pam what she’s doing there, saying she wasn’t invited. Pam says it’s her family and they start trading barbs. Eric comes over and asks an indignant Pam to stop causing trouble and asks her to leave.
Downstairs, Beth fondly remembers looking at Brooke’s music box, but then gets a flash of the past when her daughters were little girls playing ring around the rosy. She gets upset as her memory turns dark and grabs her purse like she’s going to leave. Stephen comes in and Beth puts her purse down. They sit, have coffee and talk. Beth asks Stephen why this is happening to her, but Stephen doesn’t know. Beth has come to a decision but thinks he won’t like it and asks him not to fight her on it. Stephen realizes she still wants to leave and doesn’t understand why. Beth says she wants to leave while her family still has wonderful memories of her. Stephen says if she leaves her daughters will be brokenhearted. Beth thinks they will be brokenhearted anyway if they have to watch her deteriorate. Beth says she wanted to stay but then had a memory of the girls as children and then a cloud descended over it and suddenly there was nothing but a cold dark void. She says her memories will disappear until everyone she loves is a stranger to her. Beth tells Stephen her decision is final and that this is how it has to be.
Donna, Brooke and Katie come downstairs and Beth tells them that she is going back to Paris. Brooke tells her mother that she knows it’s difficult but she needs to depend on others. Beth doesn’t want to do that and they argue over it. Beth tells her daughters to let the Beth Logan they once knew live in their memories and to let her go. The girls continue to try and convince her to stay and Beth yells at them to stop pushing her. Katie tells her mother that she understands that she doesn’t want help, because she felt the same way when she received Storm’s heart. However, she urges Beth to not run away to Paris, because life is short and every moment is valuable. Katie, Donna, Brooke and Stephen all plead with her again to stay by saying they can be the family they never had the chance to be until now. Katie says it’s what Storm would want and Beth cries saying she’s scared because she doesn’t want to be a burden, but she does want to be with her family for whatever time she has left.
Brooke and Stephen find Beth with Hope at Brooke’s house. Brooke tells her mother that Katherine, the babysitter called them and wonders what brought her there. Beth doesn’t know, but Hope says she came to see her to say goodbye. Hope tells Beth she doesn’t want her to leave and Brooke says no one does. Beth doesn’t want to be a burden, but Brooke insists that it’s their turn to take care of her. Hope asks what a burden is and Brooke says, “Your grandmother isn’t one. No mater what she thinks.” Stephen wants to take Hope out of the room so Beth and Brooke can talk, but first Hope asks her grandma to say goodbye before she leaves. Brooke says she’s not going anywhere and Hope tells her grandma she loves her.
