Donna is still trying to persuade Phoebe to go for it with Rick, when Rick and Ashley come in. He's excited to see them and introduces Ashley to his aunt Donna. Phoebe's youth shows when she tells him that she's been trying to reach him all night. "Now I know what you've been up to," she accuses. Rick tells Phoebe that he was at Café Russe discussing business with Ashley. Donna realizes that no one will want to discuss Forrester business in front of "the competition", so she says her goodbyes. Before she leaves, Ashley tells her that she looks familiar – has she ever been to Genoa City? Donna tells her that she must have a twin.
As she's about to leave the coffee house, Donna calls Jackie and reports that she's watching Rick and Phoebe kiss! She says that when Ridge finds out and loses it, Brooke won't put up with it. Mission accomplished.
Donna and Jackie are having a cup of coffee at Insomnia. Donna doesn't get why Brooke is upset that Rick and Phoebe are getting close because at first she was thrilled that the two of them were spending time together. Jackie points out that when Ridge puts his foot down, everything changes. They talk about how happy Brooke and Nick could've been if the Forresters had just stayed away. Stephanie comes in for coffee and can't resist swinging by their table to announce that Nick may get his precious Brooke back. Uninvited, Stephanie sits at their table and the three women bicker over who has done whom wrong. Stephanie gets the last word in and says that Brooke and Ridge won't last, and then leaves. Donna tells Jackie that she has tried to tell Brooke that the Forresters haven't changed, but she won't listen where Ridge is concerned. Jackie has an idea. She suggests that Brooke needs to realize what Ridge is like all by herself. She says that a mother's love for her son is stronger than for her man. Jackie says that Ridge would go crazy if he caught Rick and Phoebe together again, and then Brooke's eyes would be opened once and for all. Donna sees that Phoebe has come into the coffee shop alone and offers to give a nudge in the right direction. Before Jackie leaves to pick up Hope, she tells Donna to "go to bat" for Brooke.
Phoebe is leaving Rick an "I miss you" voicemail when Donna walks over to her table. After Phoebe hangs up her cell phone, Donna offers her sympathy over having to give Rick up. She tells Phoebe that when Brooke was 18 nobody would have been able to tell her what to do. "The Brooke I know would never ask anyone to walk away for love," Donna says. She asks how Phoebe can let Rick go if he's "the one?" She says that she's been single her whole life and warns Phoebe not to let her true love get away. "Take Rick and make him yours before you end up alone…like me," she taunts.
Over at Nick's office Jackie, Donna and Storm are hanging around with Nick and reading a juicy magazine story that speculates about Phoebe and Rick's relationship, and the battle between the Marone brothers for the hand of Brooke Logan. Then they talk about Ridge and Brooke's hoopla wedding that will coincide with the boutique opening and Jackie tells Nick that he should do something about it. He contends that he has found something with Taylor and will not go off and rescue Brooke from the Forresters again. As Jackie continues to badger him, he yells that he wants her to "let it be over!"
Clarke tells Storm that they were obviously moving too fast by doing the big fashion show in New York. Although the designs received rave reviews, they say that Donna doesn’t have what it takes to be in the same league as her sister...Brooke! Donna insists that it doesn’t matter as long as Nick still believes in her. She tells Storm that it really gave her confidence a boost when he made her lead spokes model. She rants and raves demanding that she will never be as talented, as pretty or as smart as Brooke!
Clarke, Donna, Storm, Jackie and Nick make several toasts to their successful coup and brace themselves for the Forrester's retaliation. As they celebrate, they talk about Eric's options at this point; dare he sell his artistry through mere department store chains? Jackie is quiet. She explains to Nick that she is empathetic toward Eric and what he must be going through.
Over at Forrester Creations, Donna, Jackie and Nick are feeling pretty good about what they've been able to pull off. Storm joins them and they figure that any minute now, the Forresters will start to notice that something isn't quite right with their so-called crowd and no doubt, Stephanie will come barreling over looking for a fight. Donna decides to go put some extra security at the front door. Left alone with his mother, Nick sees that Jackie is having another of her awful headaches. "Starting today, Stephanie will feel the pain that you've suffered…and she'll feel it for a long time to come."
The family is in complete shock as they try to put together the pieces of the puzzle that are unfolding fast. "We cannot introduce a new line…or a new company…without anyone to see it," Eric says angrily. They decide to cancel the show. As they start to bicker, Felicia gets a call to turn on the TV. When they do they see that Jackie is holding a press conference and announces that Forrester Creations is undergoing a significant expansion. Nick steps up to the microphone and clarifies that Forrester Creations has acquired a monopoly of overseas boutiques and as of today they are all part of the Jackie M International. Donna announces that the answers to all of their questions are in their press packets. A reporter asks if the new Jackie M will carry Eric Forrester's new line? Nick doesn't waste any time with his tight-lipped reply, "Forrester Originals will never be carried by Jackie M International. Now or ever."
Down the hall, Storme is trying to prepare Donna for the onslaught of press that's bound to happen during these next few weeks. He tells her that Nick's been generating a lot of paperwork for him and he has to wonder what he's planning. The company itself has been put up as collateral to generate great amounts of cash. Donna says that she trusts Nick's instincts.
