Donna goes to see Owen and he can't believe he’s spending his time trying to find her a precious and rare orchid, even though she’s made it clear she doesn’t want him. Owen says negative things about Eric, namely that he moved in with both Donna and Steph, but Donna defends him. Owen thinks it’s insulting to her and he’s surprised that she would go along with it. He says she has a choice and she’s looking right at him.
Owen wonders if Donna thinks about what she’s missing with him and Donna asks, “What if I do?” Owen locks the door and tells Donna that he’s been truthful to her and never went behind her back to undermine her with Eric. He says they can do anything in this office and he won’t say a word. Owen asks Donna to let him show her how good they can be together.
Rick, Eric, Owen and Donna have a business meeting and Rick questions whether or not Owen and Donna should head up the project they’re discussing. Eric decrees it's what he wants and the meeting breaks up. Donna asks Eric why he wants her to spend time with Owen and thinks it’s a bad idea. Eric doesn’t think it will be a problem if Donna is as committed to him as she says she is. Donna assures him she is, so Eric says there's no reason she can’t work on this project with Owen. Donna agrees to it and kisses Eric telling him she loves him.
Owen and Donna meet up to discuss their project and Donna says she thinks it’s strange that Eric would want them to work together, but he doesn’t seem threatened at all. As they go over things, Eric watches from his computer. He wonders if Donna is telling the truth, that she can be faithful to him. Owen tries on some swim trunks for the project they’re working on and Eric watches as Donna feels the fabric on the shorts. She looks for the label in the back of the shorts and Throne comes in Eric's office questioning what Donna’s doing. Things turn out to be innocent enough, but Thorne thinks in time Donna will prove she’s not worthy to be Eric’s wife.
Marcus tells Donna about his leaving and Donna is thrilled for him, although she’s upset he’s leaving so soon. She’s proud of her son, but she’ll miss him. Marcus assures her that no matter where he is, he’ll love her just as much.
Donna joins the rest of the Logans in Rick’s office and mentions that Owen is working there again. Rick snidely requests that she not mess that situation up again and everyone is shocked by Rick’s harsh demeanor. Rick declares they already got rid of Ridge and if anyone else stands in their way they will get rid of them too. Brooke isn’t comfortable with that attitude, but Rick says Eric has put him in charge and he will deliver. Brooke leaves and Steffy comes in dropping Rick’s mail on his desk. Rick tells her he always thought he saw her mother in her, but now he’s starting to see a lot more of her father. Steffy is insulted and leaves. Marcus notes that Rick wants them all to choose sides and Rick says he doesn’t want Ridge’s name mentioned or to even see his name plates around the building. Rick says this is his vision and his company and nothing and no one will stand in his way.
Donna comes to Owen’s office and he tells her the Forresters aren’t exactly thrilled to see him. Donna thinks it’s because it’s a reflection of Eric’s feelings for her and Owen asks what about his feelings, noting that the two of them will be working closely together with no one around.
Eric and Donna work in Eric’s office and Donna brings up the announcement Eric made. Donna shows him emails and faxes from concerned and upset employees from around the world. Eric thanks her for bringing it to his attention and tells her that he’s come to the conclusion that trust is the most important thing in any relationship. Donna begs him not to give up on their marriage. She thinks they can survive anything and have to remember how much they love each other. Donna says no one can destroy the love she feels for him. Someone knocks on the door and Donna answers to Owen. Eric says he asked Owen to come so they could have a talk that is long overdue. Donna again tells Eric that nothing really happened between the two of them and that Owen was just a good friend to both of them. Owen backs her up. Eric agrees that Owen is not a threat to him anymore and thanks him for all he’s done for them. Eric then asks him to work at Forrester Creations again. Owen and Donna are both stunned, but Eric says he’s heard good things about him and Donna will need help with her heavy workload. Owen accepts and Eric makes a call saying Owen is ready to see his new office. Owen is grateful and says he won’t let Eric down.
After Owen leaves, Donna tells Eric how incredible that was. She knows it wasn’t about him believing in Owen, but about him believing in her and their future together. She thinks it’s a sign that he’s close to making his decision, but when she hugs him, Eric’s face says otherwise.
Donna meets Owen in his new office and Owen is thrilled. He says this job couldn’t have come at a better time because things have become pretty bleak. He’s been surfing and trying to figure out his life and whether or not he should move back to San Diego. He tells her the real reason he could never leave LA is because he doesn’t want to be out of her life even if she is committed to Eric. Donna makes it clear to Owen that she is determined to be with Eric again and is optimistic that he is close to choosing her as the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with.
