Eric is confused and angry as to why Donna doesn’t want to work things out now. He shouts, “You’re breaking my heart!” Donna insists it’s for his own good and Eric assumes she’s leaving him for Owen. Donna doesn’t confirm or deny, she just says it would be worse if they waited. Eric says she’s right and puts his wedding band on the desk saying, “Obviously our marriage is over.” Pam watches and smiles from the shadows. Donna sadly takes off her wedding ring and says, “Why didn’t you leave when I asked you too?” Eric responds, “Is this what you really want?” Donna doesn’t see any other way and Eric says he’s been a fool. Donna cries as Eric tells her he believed in her when she showed him that he was a prisoner in his own life. He searched for the passion he was missing and found it in her. He’s lucky he’s been loved so much in his life, but he never thought he would find the kind of love she brought to him. He thinks that kind of love just doesn’t happen and admits that Stephanie was right about that. Donna exclaims that he’s wrong and begs him not to think she didn’t love him. Eric leaves and Donna crumbles.
Pam comes out and tells Donna she’s better off because women like them aren’t meant to be married. Donna gives Pam the look of death and then lashes out at her for making her hurt Eric. Donna doesn’t think Pam’s plan will work, because Eric didn’t look like a man ready to jump into another woman’s arms. Pam says he will recover in time and at least he’s away from her. Pam does wonder, however, how she will make sure Eric goes back to Stephanie. Donna wants Pam to promise to stay away from Eric or else she will call the police. Pam mocks her bravery, but says if Donna keeps her promise and stays away from Eric, then she will too. Pam vows that Donna will never see her again, but she will be watching because she has nothing else. This is her life now – minding Donna.
Donna gets on her phone to call the police, but Pam reveals that she has a gun. Donna puts down the phone and Pam refers to two of Donna’s family members being in the hospital at one time and asks if that is a coincidence? Donna insists Pam won’t get away with this, but Pam notes no one has caught her yet. She’s enjoying eluding the police and tells Donna that she will not take what is not hers. Pam says Eric is where he belongs – with Stephanie. She tells Donna that if she wants Eric to ‘stay off the endangered species list’ she will leave him alone, or else the ‘lemon bar bandit’ will strike again. Donna thinks Pam is off her meds, but Pam says she has never felt better and she will make sure Stephanie gets the life she was meant to live – with Eric. She says the only good thing in her life has been Stephanie and if Stephanie doesn’t get Eric, then nobody will! Donna reminds Pam how terrible she felt about causing Eric’s heart attack and how she wanted Eric to come back to them. Pam corrects her saying she wanted Eric to come back to Stephanie, not Donna. She reaches for her gun, but Donna prevents her from pulling it out saying the violence has to end and then offers to help her. Donna wants to call Stephanie for her, but Hope and RJ come home and Pam runs outside.
Donna tells the kids to run upstairs and brush their teeth for bed. The kids do as they're told and once Donna is alone again, Pam returns. Donna continues to try and ‘help’ Pam, but Pam laughs and thinks she just wants to see her dead. Donna says she just doesn’t want to see anyone get hurt, especially the children. Pam makes references to how cute Hope is and Donna tells her that Stephanie would be horrified if she did anything to the kids. Pam says if Donna tells Eric to go back to Stephanie, everyone will be safe. Pam instructs Donna to tell Eric she wants to be with Owen, but Donna doesn't think she can be that convincing. Pam urges Donna to give the performance of a lifetime so that she can fulfill her purpose on this earth, which is to reunite Eric and Stephanie. Pam recounts watching her father abuse Stephanie when they were kids and regrets that she couldn’t do anything to help her sister, but notes that Stephanie saved her from similar abuse. The doorbell rings and Pam warns Donna about saying anything or else she will be sorry and she hides.
Donna composes herself and answers the door to Eric. He tells her that he just saw Marcus and Beth at the hospital and that they are fine. Donna thanks him for stopping by to deliver the news, but Eric also tells her he misses her. He passionately kisses her, but Donna backs away. Eric asks what’s wrong and Donna looks petrified. She sees Pam hiding behind the curtains who gives her a silent warning.
Donna continues to try and convince Stephanie that Pam is dangerous. She begs her rival to try and get through to her sister. Stephanie insists Pam has her condition under control and has never been dangerous. Stephanie says Pam is not crazy, but obsessive compulsive. Donna begs to differ, but Stephanie can’t figure out how Pam could have engineered the snake attack and thinks they should wait until the police bring her in. Donna thinks Pam just snapped and is attacking Donna out of her love for Stephanie. Stephanie counters that she doesn't need her sister to help her get Eric back, she will do that all on her own. Until someone can prove to her that Pam is guilty, Stephanie will not condemn her sister. She walks out leaving Donna in a panic.
Eric plays the piano in his living room and recalls good times with Donna. Donna rushes over to Eric’s and asks him to hold her because she had the worst day. Eric obliges and Donna starts to feel safe. Donna tells Eric what happened with Marcus and Eric is concerned for his stepson. He comforts Donna and she tells him there’s something else…but her phone rings. Donna answers to Brooke who tells her that Beth was hit by a car.
Donna rushes over to Brooke’s house and finds Brooke tending to Beth’s injuries. Beth avoided getting run down, but got clipped by the car. Her pants are torn and her leg is scratched up. Beth says it was scary because it was like the person was deliberately trying to hit her. Donna gets nervous and Brooke takes Beth to the hospital. Donna stays behind for Hope and RJ and says to herself, “Marcus and now my mom. Damn you Pam!”
The doorbell rings and it's Owen. He came over to see if Donna’s alright after what happened with Marcus. She says she’s fine, but he thinks she’s the one in danger because the package with the snake had her name on it. Donna tells Owen about Beth getting hit by a car and says someone is out to get her and her family. Owen and Donna both think it’s Pam. Donna tells Owen to leave and they can talk later because no one can see them together. Owen agrees to leave, but instructs her to call if she needs anything.
Once alone, Pam sneaks up behind Donna and scares the daylights out of her. She says, “I’ve been watching you Goldilocks and if you don’t stay away from your Honey Bear, I’m going to put you in hibernation permanently!”
