Nick Pushes Owen a Bit Too Far.

Bridget and Nick are at the Jackie M. offices talking about their big day, but he won't tell her where the honeymoon will be. Bridget reports that Eric has agreed to walk her down the aisle and Brooke is standing up for her. Nick tells her that Rick will be his best man and Jackie will be there with bells on, too. When Bridget asks about Owen, Nick says that if he has the nerve to show up, there will be trouble.

Back at Jackie M., Jackie goes to Nick's office to make yet another plea for him to accept Owen as her fiancé. She tells him how carefree and happy she is now and that Owen is to thank for that. Nick asks if she has at least had a background check done on the guy, but Jackie says that she trusts him and is accepting him as a gift from the fates. "I'm alive again in a way that I've not been in years," she softly says. She says that she'd rather risk heartbreak than spending one more day in quiet desperation as she was before Owen.

Back at Jackie M., Owen walks down the hallway but is stopped by a testosterone-filled push from Nick. They exchange warnings, threats and ultimately Nick informs Owen that his engagement to Jackie will be officially over the moment he returns from his honeymoon. He adds, "If you show your face at my wedding tomorrow I won't be responsible for what happens," Nick seethes.

Basketball Shoes and a Ring!

Katie tells Nick that Jack fell asleep very quickly. He reminds her that Jack is supposed to go back to Brooke's house tonight. Katie points out that she probably wouldn't want to wake him - besides she wants to see him get his gifts in the morning. Nick comes over and they embrace and kiss. Katie calls Brooke and tells Nick that she said it wasn't a problem for them to keep Jack. Nick gives her a gift. She opens it to discover that he has given her basketball shoes! They laugh and kiss. As they cuddle in front of the fire, Nick wonders whether he screwed up by giving her shoes. She says they're her favorite color. He notes that they're white - just like wedding dresses! She gapes as he pulls out his 'back-up' gift - an engagement ring. Katie wipes tears from her eyes. Nick pretends not to understand why she's crying, but then turns serious. He says this year has been about beating the odds. He asks her to do the 'happily ever after' thing with him, saying he wouldn't blame her if she ran the other way in her new sneakers! Katie snickers. Nick asks if she can build a life with him and Jack. Katie says she loves him and Jack so much, and she wants to spend the rest of her life with them. He asks if that's a 'yes', and she giddily says it is! He puts the ring on her finger, saying, "Merry Christmas, Beautiful!"

Our Star Will Shine Forever

At Nick's house, Donna tells Marcus that Eric is going to tell Stephanie that they're back together after Christmas. Katie works on the tree, and Jackie, Nick and Jack arrive to celebrate Christmas. Donna gets on the phone with Eric and they vow that this will be the last Christmas they ever spend apart. After they hang up, Marcus and Donna look at a picture of their first Christmas together. Donna feels bad about those they've missed spending together, but Marcus assures her he's just glad they are together now. Donna and Katie talk and comment on what a great dad Nick is. Donna tells her sister she thinks Nick finally met the right match in her! Katie goes over and kisses Jack and Nick under the mistletoe.

Rock Bottom.

Katie pays the babysitter from next door and tells her she’s getting more involved at work so she might be needing her more often. The babysitter says she loves her son. Katie corrects her, but says she loves Jack just like he is her own.

Nick comes in the room where Katie and Jack are and overhears Katie telling Jack sometimes she feels like his mom and wishes that she were. She thinks that she’s kind of like a mom to him and Nick makes his presence known. Nick takes Jack and Katie remarks what a great kid Jack is. Katie puts Jack down and she and Nick talk. Katie thinks Jack is really starting to bond with her and thinks maybe they should keep Jack full time until the situation with Rick is over. Nick thinks that will cause a lot of stress for Brooke and thinks Jack needs to be with his real mom. Katie notes that they can’t forget that Brooke is Jack’s biological mother, or that Nick has a baby with her sister.

Trouble is Brewing.

Jackie comes to Nick’s house with presents for Jack and then Katie takes Jack into the kitchen. Jackie comments how precious Jack is and marvels at how well Katie is doing. Nick credits it to Jack and Jackie asks how Brooke and Ridge feel about it. She assumes Brooke is sensitive to Katie’s feelings, but that Ridge resents Nick. She is surprised Ridge allowed him to have the party at his house, but Nick says he won’t let Ridge dictate what he does with his son and says Ridge was lucky to get an invitation to the party.

Brooke comes to Nick’s house and fawns all over Jack. Katie gets up and takes Jack to get him dressed him for the party. Brooke offers to do it, but Katie won’t let her. She even tries to get Jackie to stay put, but grandma insists she help. Once alone, Nick and Brooke talk about Ridge and Bridget, but Brooke doesn’t want to have either discussion on Jack’s first birthday. Nick wants to work hard at letting the past be the past and put the mistakes they made behind them.

While Katie, Jackie, Nick and Brooke play with Jack, Katie picks up the boy and asks Nick to take a picture of the two of them as Brooke looks on concerned.
