It's Too Dark!!!!!!

I was watching today and all of the sceens are too dark nowadays!!! It's not just today, it's been going on forever!!! Is it low budget? Not enough money for lighting? Or makeup for the actors and actresses? If this continues, I'm probably not going to watch this soap any longer, because I just can't see a darn thing.

I thought it was just my tv, maybe it still is. But I am having the same problem.
