Give Donna a break, my God. She didn't even know her son was alive- when she married Eric, and why should she tell Eric about the baby she had when she was a teen. Why should Eric care about her past- when he has been with more women than she could count. She had just lost her brother, and her sister was also sick and going to die, she was in an emotional state, why would she tell Eric. |

Not telling your husband that you have a child is a pretty big deal. |

She had just lost her brother, and her sister was also sick and going to die, she was in an emotional state, why would she tell Eric. I understand why she didn't tell Eric, she was afraid of his kids....and Pam. I mean after they locked her in steam room, to keep her from taking her bow with her honey bear. There is nothing that those Forrester's wouldn't do. She planned to tell him when the time was right....its just they beat her to the punch. So its not that big of a deal...Marcus is a handsome young man, and Donna deserves to have a child.....since Eric had a vasectomy and forgot to tell her. Why was secret any worse than hers? I agree and disagree with you in part - Donna did not know her son was alive and most certainly didn't think she would ever see him again. That MIGHT excuse the fact that she didn't mention it. As a married woman, I could never imagine not telling my future husband or husband that I had child. If the shoe were on the other foot and my husband gave a kid up for adoption, I would absolutely want to know about it - and further more would be VERY ticked that he did not tell me if the kid came back several years later. That said, I can still understand (albeit a little) how Donna did not say anything. That is where it ends. The moment she found out about him, she should have told Eric. If for nothing else b/c she knew that the main reason for Eric's failed marriage (at least in his eyes) was that Stephanie had secrets and was not honest with him. Marcus may be handsome and Donna may deserve a child but that does not change that fact that she witheld a VERY big secret from him. And as far as her adult kids go, she should have proved them wrong and shown them that she was not like them - willing to do whatever it takes. Instead she played right into their hands and lived up (or down) to their very expectation. She did not lie, but some might argue that witholding the truth and her subsequent actions just as bad. If it makes you feel any better, I believe Eric will accept Marcus with open arms and it will not end their marriage...at least until Marcus' father comes in the picture - I think that will be the first sign that the fat lady is getting ready to sing. |

Donna should have told Eric a while ago. All of the drama that she's dragging Marcus through would have been prevented if Donna had been honest from the start. No, she didn't lie about Marcus to Eric...but she was deceptive in keeping something secret like HAVING A CHILD from her husband...her hands are not clean in any of this. |

she didnt know about Marcus when she married Eric!! she was a teen when she had him AND GAVE HIM AWAY! and she was going to tell him when the time was right, if it wasnt for those spoiled kids nothing would be this big of a deal because she would have told him when they were alone. |

She did know about Marcus the day she delivered him. You don't forget delivering a baby. What she didn't count on was him turning up on her doorstep (or Eric's as it were). Yes, we can justify Donna's behavior to the hilt, but the fact remains, withholding the truth is the same as lying. I can't believe it never came up when she was whispering sweet nothings in Eric's ears, but then, we are talking about Donna. |

I have to agree with you. I am definatly not a big Donna fan, but fair is fair. She didn't manipulate Eric or lie to him about this. She had every reason to believe she would never see her son again. When he showed up she was overwhelmed. Eric's family has not provided an atmosphere of love trust and support. ( again to be fair one can not blame them for being distrustful of Donna) But I can understand why she would be afraid to say anything at first. She wanted the chance to get to know her son. I actually admire her for that. Maybe she should have said something sooner, but I can understand why she didn't. |

While, in these circumstances, it would have been better to tell Eric first, still I think it was Donna's story to tell and her right to pick the time and place. It probably would have been better to tell Eric before they married, but I can't fault her for not telling since it happened so many years ago and was, apparently a closed adoption. I guess that if a woman is required to tell a man before marriage that she got pregnant and bore a child, then the man should also be required to tell her about all his youthful sexual partners because one day a child of his might show up. Otherwise, there's a double standard. |

I understand Donna's hesitancy as well, but, if things are as I think they will be, Eric is going to embrace Marcus and make him a family member, much to the disappointment of his own kids. Eric is a kind man and his brats shouold be as nice as Marcus appears to be, and as honest. |

It's true, Donna didn't lie to Eric, she just didn't give full disclosure, just as he did not tell her that he had a vasectomy years ago! All is fair in Love and War! |
Blondie-n-Lex![]() |
I don't think Donna lied, she just didn't reveal a very important aspect of her past. Having a child is a very big thing and definitely something that should be told BEFORE a marriage. Eric would not have thought any less or more of her but he should have know about the child. |
