Samantha Kelly is the daughter of Pricilla Kelly (Linda Gray). Sam who at the time was underage (and mature for her age)was involved with Hector Ramirez (Lorenzo Lamas). They had plans to move in together and raise their child. Those plans were interrupted.

Priscilla had told Sam that their baby died and Hector wanted nothing more to do with her. Priscilla presented Hector with a newborn baby girl telling him Sam didn't want anything to do with him or their child. She threatened to have him arrested for statutory rape if he came near Sam again. Rather than tell Caitlin their mother didn't want anything to do with either of them, Hector told Caitlin that Sam died giving birth to her.
The truth came out. Sam and Hector got engaged, but called it off. Sam moved back to New York without explanation. Caitlin (and apperently Jimmy) moved to New York with Sam. After his accident Hector mentioned Caitlin offered to take him back to New York where she and her brother could be there for him.

Hector was involved in a fire and became blind. He lived with Taylor for a while. I remember that he had a severe crush on her, but she didn't like him in return.
