Hi,

Do any of you have any theories on what will be the cause of Beth avoiding her children in such a time of need? Gosh, she seemed so distant and cold to Katie and wanted to completely avoid answering any questions to Nick. What could she be hiding? Is she feeling guilt? Breakdown? Memory loss (it's like she didn't even know Katie when she called). Hmm....it will be interesting to see this storyline play out.

Her daughters are such LADIES she is probably too embarrased to show her face, even if her ex man has roto rootered all except one of them.

Maybe I am reading into stuff but I found it funny when Katie said "its not like she's even our mother"... Maybe it waas a clue. I could be so wrong. But I am anxious to find out

Maybe Eric has two more children he didn't know about?

Very far fetched....but what the heck,

it is her evil twin sister who bumped off Beth and is playing her role....

well, anything is possible in soap land.

My first guess was Alzheimer's - because she just seemed to stare at the photo of her kids, and didn't seem to act like she knew who, Katie was or who Nick was. I guess maybe we will find out soon enough...what other reason would keep a mother so distant from her children. But she did know Katie was in California -when she mentioned the weather...

My only other guess is that someone threatened her to stay away - Maybe threatened to kill her if she came near Eric or the kids....Him I wouldn't put it past Stephanie or Pam to do this.

I know, it's Sheila Carter from y&R with another reconstructive surgery. ok Kidding!! But you know it will be some messed up thing were it is not really her and it's someone else.

I kept expecting her to hand the photo to Nick and say "Now, which one is Katie?".

?) For those of us who have been watching since the '80's...Beth was an older woman back then...what is with this Beth now? Do the writers not understand that some of us do have memories? This is not a 'new' character on this soap...she is a recurring character.

She seems to be Stevens age.



Steven is 59
Beth is 56 These are the actors ages. Of course this means Beth had Brooke when she was 9.

Maybe Katie is really a Forrester....Stephanie has been really good to Katie. Perhaps Stephanie has threatend Beth about never coming back or is holding something over Beth's head.

I was thinking that maybe she's very ill or something and doesn't want to burden the girls because of all that's happened recently. I sure hope not because the Logan family has been through enough already. I do feel for Katie and understand where she's coming from and hope that Beth has a very good explanation as to why she hasn't been there for her family.
