Quote calliope: Regardless of race, it does seem odd that a sister would not have asked who the father was. They all grew up together and wouldn't you wonder if you had known him? My sister was pregnant! It took me many years to even ask my mother, let alone my sister, about her son's father. Of course, I never asked my mother who my sister's father was, because it was really of no concern to me. My sister is my sister, and my nephew is my nephew, and who fathered them doesn't matter, if he didn't want to hang around. |

The last time this discussion came up the thread was shut down. I think it would be a good idea to take it to the Lounge, because for some, this topic got borderline offensive in some respects. Just my IMO. |

LOL, funny story. My cousins wife- they're both white, had a baby and it came out black! |

Ok all. Let's change the subject. How long are we going to keep this subject going??? The next s/l whould be who is Marcus father and what really happen with Donna and Marcus father. If Storny took such good care of of his sisters, how did they not know about Donna and this guy? Was Donna a hot momma in her teens? I guess so since she carried a baby for 9 months and her brother/sisters didn't know. |

The whole Marcus story line is absurd. So Donna slept with a black guy - seems like the latest craze that Hollywood, network TV and the advertising business want to shove down our throats constantly. Marcus in no way even resembles Donna and he's too old. But not satisfied with that, now they are worming in a love sub-plot between Marcus and Ridge's daughter. I also suspect they are trying to tap into the Obama craze. They could have made this whole thing more believable and palatable by introducing a white love child for Donna and a white love interest for Ridge's daughter. If they don't ditch this whole plot soon, I will no longer tune in. It's all so foney and contrived to break down societal taboos. Well I like the taboos just they way they are. Anyone have the guts to admit they feel exactly as I do??? |

Now when we looked at the kid we were all wide eyed, and we were like- ummm, woow, she's soo--- CUTE!!! We didn't say- oh my gosh, she's black- duh, we could see that! And we didn't say OMG he's not the father- double duh!!! We actually thought it was hilareous!!!! But we didn't say anything because what was there to ask, besides later, who the eff is the daddy!!! She and her husband we on again off again split up so, hey! It just makes me think of this s/l. They are probably waiting until Donna is a little settled to ask about the boy's father, but asking him about being black I'm sure they get the picture. It wouldn't be unacceptable to ask, not at all, but I think they figured out on their own why he's black and she's white. Oh, I've got an even funnier story! My cousin's wife had a baby and IT came out a girl! Came right out! Just came right on out! Here IT came! And was a girl! Every time we look at IT, we are all like duh! |

Quote samsgram: "The problem is, when the stupids arrive and start getting their behinds in an uproar, pretty soon your voices will be drowned out." See what I mean?.... Oh I see what you mean alright, it started innocently enough and I was quite surprised that it lasted this long until closed minded idiot #1 showed up a minuet ago. Oh well time to have this thread closed. |

So, if Marcus should become President (maybe CEO of FC) on B&B any time soon, I don't want ANY of you saying "Yeah! A black man became President!" I don't want to hear it, I don't want anyone to say that's it a big deal, because some of you have just said in so many words that it is NOT big deal, just because you are so uncomfortable in speaking of this racial (not racist!) story line. But what if Marcus brings it up? Should Donna be offended? |

But what if Marcus brings it up? Should Donna be offended? Ergo, I better not hear anyone say I am blonde, because I WILL take offense and WILL call you un-P.C.--just because some of you have said it should be that way. Open discussion is much better, my friends, take the hand we are dealt and find the common ground. And sometimes finding the common ground means realizing certain characters are a little out of the norm and needing to hash through that. What's wrong with that? Should I have been offended when my black classmates in junior high school wanted to touch my hair because it was straight and blonde? And should they have been offended when I asked to touch their hair in return? That is discovery and from what I am seeing, I don't think we have come much farther in the 30 plus years it has been... But I feel that we all come onto this subject with a kind of naiveness, even after all these years, but we should be patient with one another if we are going to progress beyond this point. Peace to you all. I hope the thread is not closed. It just abruptly closes the discussion and our progression of understanding one another...and I think that we all are not so much apart if we really listen. Where did all this come from??? Maybe you do need to talk to some of those friends of yours. |

There have been some racist comments made on this board regarding Marcus parents and there have been some innocent enough questions asked as well to which some of us have tried to answer by behaving like adults and not childishly and ignorantly but with an open mind opposed to some others. |
