Since we all seem to be in agreement that Susan Flannery, as always, is doing an excellent job - but we're starting to really hate Stephanie for all of her meddeling, let's suggest some new directions for her character.

Let's see, what would knock her into a new mode? She already had a health scare and mellowed out for a while...she has lost Eric and won him back...the abused childhood worked well to show us a side of her that brought her nearer to our hearts. What else?

I'll start:
They could FINALLY deal with the absense of Sally Spectra. Stephanie and she had a really wonderful but strange relationship that would be good to work with here. LEt's say that Sally has gone missing and Stephanie drops everything to find out what has happened to her. Once it is revealed that Sally has died, Stephanie could be broken-hearted and then resurrect the brand of "Spectra" in the fashion world somehow as a tribute to her friend.

i like your idea they should do your suggestion and maybe have her have another deep dark secret about her father that no one knew not even her mother and pam. lets have him sexually abuse her. they dealt with physical abuse why not sexually abuse

Stephanie needs another "Sally" to play with in order to keep everyone liking her and to make her more likeable, not to mention how enjoyable those were didn't Sally have a Sister like her that is a mogul as well i am sure you can make something up

Yeah I got one, lets have her in a house fire or car accident, and when she returns from reconstructive surgery, she'll be younger and more beautiful, then we got something to work with

I understand that you are meaning that the character be brought back younger and be more beautiful. You may have not have meant for it to be bashing towards to looks or the actress but in ways it is putting down the actress on her looks, and it is considered bashing even though I know you didn't really mean it that way. Just be more careful next time how you word it.

how about ann and pam for stephanie to finally have to come to grips with dealing with her issues with her mama and pam and in the end they get along very well. and why not have stephanie go looking for sally who is mia by the way and realize her dear friend died and deal with the loss of sally spectra and do a tribute to her. anything but having her meddling in ridge's love life. the tayfans and brooke fans don't want her meddling in her sons love lives. and its way to old anyways. and so beneath her to be doing that. sf is to great an actress to do this to.

no I did not, what I meant is all the men on the show are much younger obviously, and you as writers should ballance it not me , just saying what everyone has noticed. And given that, why not make older scenes and scripts, as I am 50,and don't like theses teenage scripts anymore, and would like to see a mature romance happen. Why because she is older do we have to accept her as meddlesome. I say kill her before I become like that and nothing else!!!!!!!!!!!11

SF has always been really good about being in very current storylines. Remember, she was homeless....So, why don't we see her getting involved with someone who was a victim of Katrina and seeing the mess that N.O. is still in and doing some good down there?

They should do a story where one of the childeren or teens, is being lured in by a online predator

This would be a good s/l. Stephanie gets kidnapped by someone wanting ransom from the Forresters. He's really evil and she has to use her wits (she has a lot) she get away from him. That would be worth watching.

I'm a relative newcomer to the show, and I live abroad where we're two years behind. But I was first attracted to the show because the s/l then had Stephanie being what JCRobinson has called "the matriarch." Stephanie was, for the first few shows I saw, the voice of reason, a paragon of dignity. She seemed to be the sane one. When I became a fan and began searching out back shows on Youtube, even though some incidents were funny, I found them really to detract from the character --the golf-club swinging, the phone cord strangulation. What I'd like is some real drama. In real life, any number of older billionaire men attract women of all ages. Have an older, gorgeous,high-power businessman come to LA who looks like Paul Newman did twenty years ago. Younger women cluster. But he admires Stephanie for her business acumen. He hires her. She accepts. She no longer has the time or the interest to interfere in the nonsense of her family. Eric is threatened. Even little young trophy wives can't interest Eric because he's so obsessed with his wife's new solid business relationship. Ridge goes to Stephanie for his usual backup and finds himself for the first time in his life told to stand on his own two feet. Brooke goes after the new billionaire only to be ignored because she's not intelligent. Nick naturally tries to compete with the billionaire because he's got a genetic resentment of Stephanie. Taylor thinks she can get him to fund a new LA invitro clinique, but he turns her down because she hasn't the backbone to run a philantrhopic organization. . . And Stephanie rules --not as a manipulator or a crazed mother in law, but as the most admired and powerful woman in LA.

And one last postscript: As the newly respected grand dame of LA, Stephanie receives a request from the city fathers to found a school. She creates a new school for people of modest means, as Darla was, in the performing arts --including disguise, mime, flamboyant stage makeup and costuming, all the things in which Sally excelled --with the condition that all profits from student productions go to the study of cures for colon cancer.

I agree with you that Steph has always been the voice of reason but it seems like every so often she goes off her rocker and tries to kill Brooke. While I agree that they are laugh my butt off funny, they really do detract from the character. These characters have actually become characitures and it is really starting to bug me.

Stephanie spends too much energy on Brooke to no avail. Ridge's male relatives are too into Brooke to see her for who she really is. They need to focus on the real Brooke instead of finding a reason to blame any and everyone for Brookes problems even if they have to drag in a victim like they did Taylor. All are focused on protecting Brooke All Stephanie wants is to get this snake out of her life. No matter what it seems that Brooke cannot be exterminated.

Bring Stephanie's mother and sister back as a support system against Brooke and a reason why Stephanie tolerates Brooke. The reason could also be in Stephanie's past with her father.
