Ridge is so twisted up because Bill bought Forrester that he can't create. Brooke is so upset with her sister for stealing Ridge's job. Eric is torn up because he lost his life's work. They all need to stop and think about the fact that desicions they all made led the company they love so much to the brink of financial disaster. |

I don't understand why Eric, Ridge and Brooke should be happy that they are no longer in control of their company. Eric was at a point where he was finally ready to hand over the reins of the company to Ridge. Thorne and Felicia, were back in the fold and WHAM!! I understand why they are upset, they missed their deadline, by 39 minutes!! This company has been a part of their lives for as long as they can remember. Eventually they may come around, but it's not going to be easy. |

I think Bill still wants to destroy Eric, Brooke and Donna (everyone that his father believes wronged Stephanie). The point is that Forrester was buried under a mountian of debt. This was Eric's doing because as brilliant a designer as he is he doesn't have much buisness sense. That was always Stephaien's forte, but Eric kicked her out of the company because his pretty little, empty headed wife felt threatened by Stephanie being there. They were at a point where they were having to sell off personal assets to cover the comapny debt. They had already sold the company jet and the beach house, Bid Bear was next. What would they sell after that? Their houses, perhaps use up there personal savings and their children's trust funds. Forrester was going down fast and they needed money. I will grant you I can understand them not turning cartwheels because they have been aquired by Spencer Publications, but were the options of losing everything so much better. Bill is not stoping them from having freedom in their creativity. Some people say Bill is going to betray them, but up to this point there has been no evidence of that. Ridge & company are just whining, I'm sorry because they are not getting their way about Ridge being in charge. They whale on about he was grromed all his life to take over but between he and his father they have not made great desicions. |

I don't believe that I heard anything about a financial crisis at FC when Eric kicked Stephanie out of the company. The company's downfall started when a scornful Stephanie made a bee-line to Bill and started the Logan Chronicles. That mess along with Eric taking a loan out against his company, got them in a financial crisis. The bank was willing to work with them and Bill somehow found out about them being late on their payment and made the bank an offer they couldn't refuse. Hmph, sounds shady to me. Stephanie got ousted because she was disrespectful, had no respect for Eric and his son (Rick) at that time, I was sick of him myself! She gave Eric an ultimatum and by this time, he couldn't take her and her self-righteous attitude any longer and gave her the boot!! I do Bill will betray them, especially after seeing that DVD his father left him. He has explicit instructions to destroy Eric, Brooke and Donna. Soo, it's just a matter of time. |

AS you yourself pointed out the beginning of the financial problems at Forrester started when Stephanie told Spencer Publications about how the Logan's have been given free rein at Forrester and when Eric took out a loan against the company that was not a sound financial desicion. Stephanie and the Logan Chronicles might have been a problem for Forrester but nothing that was insurmountable. The big problem came from Eric leveraging the company and getting it so far in debt without a sound plan of repayment. They were already hurting from when Rick stole their entire collection, again something Eric refused to take action on. As for Stephanie's lack of respect for Rick, who can blame her? He proved he was more a spoiled little boy playing at being an executive than a contributing member of the team. The whole time he was President did he do one single thing to make the company better? No he didn't, it's no wonder Stephanie had no use for him. You may be right in the long run, Bill may well prove to be a snake in the grass. But as of right now I don't see where Ridge gets the idea that he is sneaky he has been painfully honest about his intentions. He has done exactly what he said he was going to do so far and Ridge has done nothing but whine because he is not calling the shots. |

Quote mdtuttle: Ridge is so twisted up because Bill bought Forrester that he can't create. Brooke is so upset with her sister for stealing Ridge's job. Eric is torn up because he lost his life's work. They all need to stop and think about the fact that desicions they all made led the company they love so much to the brink of financial disaster. If they had not agreed to Bill's aqusition then their choices would have been 1) Throw more good money after bad. Sell off all their possesions until they had nothing and the company would have gone under anyway. 2) keep stuggeling and mot be able to make the payments and Bill would have ended up buying the company anyway. This way they still have vreative control. Bill is not about to try and second guess Ridge and Eric on designs. That is what they do best and if he wants the company to move forward and grow that is the best way. Bill is controling the biusness desicions but he is supplying them with an ample compensation package for their work and enough capitol to ensure they can mount a fantastic colecction. So the Forrester clan needs to put away their crying toweld and get down to the buisness of saving the company they profess to love so much. Your post was spot on! What Bill offered the Forresters was MORE THAN GENEROUS, considering that most company takeovers have serious reorganizations, layoffs, and other things that occur. Giving out stock options to current employees AND their kids is unheard of in today's market, and I have to believe Bill's intentions to do this was due to Katie. He may be ruthless and go after what he wants, but the man was bit by the love bug bad...lol... Ridge, Brooke, and Eric through their whining and crying show us just how poor they are as decision makers for their company. Anyone with good business sense would know a good deal when they see one. |

Ridge, Brooke, and Eric through their whining and crying show us just how poor they are as decision makers for their company. Anyone with good business sense would know a good deal when they see one. That's my whole point. Here is a company facing financial ruin because of bad desicions made by Eric. What, pray tell would they have done if Bill had not purchased the beach house? They would not have had the money to make the first payment and the bank would have forclosed and they would have lost the company this way. At least this way Eric and Ridge can still do what they do best, design and the burden of paying off a huge debt is no longer hanging over them. Granted the best thing for them would have been able to retain control of managing the company. But it was their mismanagement that got the company in trouble in the first place. |
