Why is the writers keep trying to find ways to break up Jackie and Owen, but are keeping a older man (Eric) with his young thing. Iam a 60 yrs old woman, and is this showing us it is still a mans world. This is wrong and old fashion. Change your Writers or let us veiwers write the Soaps. A older woman have just much to ofter a younger man, What do you want most a dog or a kitty cat. Please response to this blog. Virginia Cat

virginia,
I don't have an answer to your question, other than it is a soapie....sometimes things are done that make no sense to us the viewers...I do however think that you mean Jackie and Owen other than Stephanie and Owen............my heart would break for him if he were married to Stephanie, she would have already consumed him by now!!

I, too am an older woman, so I say that older women/younger men are great.....men have done it for years and years....now it is our time!! Enjoy the show.

I don't believe the writers want to leave any of the couples together for long periods of time, they want drama. They will be trying to break up Donna and Eric soon with Justin. Sally was married to a much younger Clarke and I enjoyed them together. I think Jackie is a beautiful woman and Owen is dang lucky to have her. Owen should have known children were not a high priority with Jackie, a grandmother. He shouldn't be trying to pressure her.

I see nothing wrong with it, but the writers doing as you say. Trying to make it wrong. Same thing could be said about Nick and Bridget. He is old enough to be her dad too.
I love the older woman younger man. If Eric can slobber all over Donna, then let Jackie slobber all over Owen. Owen is getting the hotter oldie. She is amazing. Her body puts Eric's to shame. I hate that the writers just can't let it be, but can show Donna and Eric in such a great light.
I was thinking it must be the men writers, but since the women are the bigger haters of women...it must be the women writing them in to a hole.

This is VA Cat again, I wrote this wrong. Why is it ok for Eric to have Donna, but why is it wrong for Jackie to have Owen. I know this is only a soap Opera, but I needed to said this. So many people look at soap and think that they are real, I had to let than know this is not the way it is in real life.

I too am an older woman (grandmother of a 23 yr.old) and love the Jackie and Owen story but would love to have seen the writers leave Jackie as the elegant woman she used to be instead of dressing her in the ridiculous clothes they have put her in lately. She is a stunner (I would kill to have her body and naturally beautiful looks). For her age she is amazing (I believe she is around 60). I know she has fantastic genes but she should be writing a book on how to retain that fabulous freshness she has. She looks better than the 40yr.olds on the show. P.S. I have seen shots of her in mags in swimmers and even then looks amazing. KEEP HER LOOKING ELEGANT THOUGH.

Oh yeah, she is definately top of the line looks wise. But there is no way she hasn't had a little help here and there. Nothing wrong with that though, women on TV have those close ups and everything shows. She is a beautiful woman and her body is to die for.
But they should dress her a little more age appropriate. Not matronly, but not like a teenager either.

Your spot on there. Couldn't have said it better. Not sure that she has had any help though as I read somewhere that she is originally English and they are are known to have that stunning 'English Rose' complexion because of the colder climate.

Not sure of my facts, just what I read.
