Because most of the characters on the show actually LIKE her, including Brooke AND Stephanie. Jackie has set the standard by forgiving Stephanie. Stephanie and the Logans, including Beth harbor resentments, IMO. Jackie rules! |

Stephanie wasn't the only one who wronged someone. To me, Jackie is not matriarch material. That usually suggests someone who can keep it together for the family. That is not Jackie. Someone matronly, that is not Jackie. Jackie is too unstable to be the one people run to for comfort or help. She still needs comforting and help. Stephanie is the only choice. And whether Donna or Brooke like her, they still admire and respect Stephanie. They want her to admire and respect them back, that is one of their goals. Everybody wants Stephanie Forrester to be on their side. Stephanie rules, all others drool. LOL |

I love Jackie and God knows that I do. However, I want Elizabeth Henderson Logan to be the next matriarch, because she should've been the first because she was supposed to be Eric's wife and not Steph |

Quote Donna L. Forrester: I love Jackie and God knows that I do. However, I want Elizabeth Henderson Logan to be the next matriarch, because she should've been the first because she was supposed to be Eric's wife and not Steph Beth can't even remember yesterday, or at least soon she won't be able to. What kind of matriarch would that be? And she has only been on a handful of times. She definately is the martiarch of the Logan bunch, but Brooke really plays that role, not Beth. She is a weak woman. Can't pull it together for the family, her's was always a wreck. Only successful being Forresters. OR working at Forrester, which was founded by Stephanie. And who said she was supposed to be Eric's wife? Eric shouldn't have cheated on her then, blame him not Stephanie. She wasn't engaged to him, she owed her nothing. He did. |

Judy-I agree that Stephanie is the number one choice, of course. But if SF ever leaves, who would be the matriarch? Gawd not a logan of any way, shape, or form. Who else is there? I'd quit watching if they made Brooke, Donna, or even Beth the matriarch. |

I have never defined my family with a matriarchal figure! My mother was interfering, interjecting, opinionated, stubborn, and...a troublemaker! I loved her just the same, but her view on life differed from mine. A matriarchal figure is not needed! |

Brad Bell must have somehow met my mother, many years ago, and fashioned the role after her! LOL Touched!!! My thoughts exactly...when I read all the posts in this thread...I too was wondering why this show needs a matriarchal figure??!! |

I have tried for years to convince my two kids, ages 38 and 48 that "I" am the matriarch of this family, but so far they have not bought it!! Sounds like something back in the olden days to me, my mom came as close as anyone that I have ever known, but she would not have liked that title at all.. |

My mother is Swedish and Irish. She is another Stephanie. She has imposed in my life, regarding my daughter, so I know exactly what its like to have a mom like Stephanie. And my mother-in-law isn't any better. I think it makes our families angry that my husband and I have been married for 29 years now, and have no intentions of calling it quits. They can't say see I told you so, it didn't work out. LOL But I still love my mother and mother-in-law dearly. They are both matriarches in my opinion. |
