Eric is TOO STUPID and/or TOO ARROGANT to admit, that THIS TIME he can't win his company back or beat the son of his arch-enemy. Also he doesn't want to admit, that he has no-one to blame but himself. HE was the one to give Stephanie the boot, thus also severing all ties that still bound her to FC and now all her loyalty and her contacts are reserved for Jacky M. Now he fires a brilliant P.R manager because

"She's sleeping with the enemy"
. A WISE man would keep her close by, so that he would have the opportunity to learn first hand what his enemy is planning, or even to feed him false information through Katie.
But no-one at FC has enough brains for such a tactic. Ridge is brawny rather than brainy, Brooke has put her brilliant chemical mind to rest in the steam room , Donna's buisiness-mind would easyly fit into a tea-spoon and Eric a.k.a. honey bear... NO COMMENT!!!!

But....Katie is LOGAN! The what goes around comes around. Katie is the smartest Logan yet. She can take Bill for all he's got. While she seems like she is being tricked at the moment, maybe she is the one who is doing the tricking!
Lets remember....while the writers want us to believe Katie is being dumb...and fallen for Bill jr, remember it is not Katie's heart that Bill Jr. has...it is Storms....and wouldn't it be a nice turn Katie in Storms memory, does something smart (and protect his sisters and his mother)

Time will tell, I find this quite intriguing, since it was Stephanie who used Bill Sr. to send away the Logan's to Paris so Beth and Eric could not be together. What goes around comes around....and Stephanie may just come to regret what she started.

Eric has never been confused with WISE. Long ago, Pierce Peterson, vocalized your exact sentiments about Ridge...I believe his exact word was "neanderthal"!

Thanks to Grandmarose, I am now going back in history every chance I get because it is very helpful when talking about the present.
