The Bold and the Beautiful - MESSAGE BOARDS

I am one of the former viewers of The Young and the Restless who have quit watching in disgust over the current baby-snatching storyline and the general decline in the writing. A quick look at the Y&R message boards will show how deep the distress over the current situation has become.

I used to leave the TV on after Y&R and watch B&B, but now my TV is off and I'm not watching either show. B&B doesn't spark my interest enough to turn my TV on just for that half-hour. I wonder how many other carry-over viewers from Y&R to B&B are dropping away because they have stopped watching Y&R?????

One Y&R poster was so upset she accidentally posted on the Days of Our Lives Updates!

I dropped Y&R from the Tivo because of the current baby switching storyline. I just cannot stomach the cruelty they are putting these two women through. And Y&R has some pretty dumb storylines going. I'm liking B&B more though with the addition of DD as Bill Jr. Bad guy or not...he just sizzles! The other storylines are OK since they seem to show less of...HoneyBear...Bridge...and the Rick/Steffy/Brooke/Ridge quadrangle and the relationship power struggle tht was going on amongst them.

cant wait unlit sheila carter comes back she is the first baby napper things will be getting good then all we need now is lauren and you will have the puzzle put together the two of them would have there cat fights. as far as young and restless goes we need a baby switching story on there its been a while since we have one i was hopping that it would turn into one,and now that we do id want it to play out im not missing it and im am happy with the writers there doing a great job with it and its going to get good its only a matter of time just let it play out and this was the storyline i been waiting for and hoping for..

I stopped watching B&B the day Brooke and Ridge got back together. Today's my last day with Y&R. The storylines from both of these shows are so ridiculous. I miss Bill Bell so much. I will turn my attention now to other shows for enjoyment. I will stop by the message boards from time to time to see if they have recovered real story writing and I might check back in. Such a shame!

I AM SO SICK AND TIRED OF THE SAME STORY LINES BEING USED ON BOTH OF THESE SHOWS. OH MY WHAT A SURPRISE THERE WAS YET ANOTHER HEART TRANSPLANT. VICTOR GOT POOR LITTLE COLLEENS HEART AND AFTER HE TREATED HER SO BADLY TOO. I WONDER IF THESE WRITERS GET PAID BY IDEA INSTEAD OF STORY. I HOPE WHOEVER THOUGHT UP THE HEART TRANSPLANT LINE ONLY GOT PAID ONCE FOR BOTH SHOWS. ********

You are so right, I couldn't agree more. It seems that the only original idea was in the beginning of the shows. Now 20 something years later it is the same OLD show different day. Talk about recycling a story, HOW MANY WAYS CAN YOU CHEW THAT JELLO? Do you think TPTB reads our discontent?

There are quite a few of us voicing our complaints and in case anyone would like to do so here are 2 sites. steve_kent@spe.sony.com and www.cbs.com/info/user_services/fb_global_form.php then fill out info,complaint,scroll to Y&R, and give your complaint. There are boycotts going on because of the bad writing and dark s/l's and some are even boycotting all P&G & SONY products. Hope it makes you feel better. I am emailin everyday and it makes me feel a little better.

I thought I was the only one who had dumped all of the CBS soaps. They have failed to provide the viewer with that magic that soap operas once had. The biggest failure is connecting the changes in the world technologically and appling them to the daily soaps. We recognize that it is fiction but soap fans want a little reality tossed in. Everything is written as though viewers are ignorant. There are those with master's and doctorate degrees who have been loyal soap fans but who can no longer tolerate the neanderthal progession of the storylines. Young and the Restless is the worse. I don't even tivo them anymore. I am looking for something else to watch.
