Your last line says it all, but problem is that the writing really isn't good enough. One good s/l doesn't make up for all the bad s/ls we had to endure this past year. Especially the Rick,Ridge,Steffy s/l. If I didn't have a FF button on my TIVO, I would have shot my tv or at least thrown things at it a lot. The show centers to much around the same ol same ol and people and s/ls year after year lately. They need to bring in a lot more new blood and spice it back up like it was years ago with Sally and Masimo and Sheila.

OMGoodness , I guess you don't think they should have one the Emmy! But your sentiments also reflect how I felt the past year. I FF so much that people wonder why I tape it if it's so bad. It's always great to have new blood mixing with old blood because it does add greater character depth.

Thanks for sharing because now I'm certain that I'm not the only one with the question mark about why they won.

I do think that they should have won the Emmy. I just think that the writing can be better to win more.

Just curious...which story line would you have submitted for the Emmy?

Ospreygirl, you ask why they only watch one reel as opposed to the rest of the year's work? Each soap submits 2 one hour episodes, that was 8 soaps at two hours each which equals 16 hours of solid viewing for the judges, which takes them usually 2-3 days of viewing. No judge is going to sit down and watch for 8 straight hours! If they were to submit more reels like you suggest, they would never get through all of the viewing to reach a winner. In fact, some of the judges even stated that it was too much for them, too many catagories, with 1 hour reels for each of the 8 dramas, are you following what I am saying? They go by just a few minutes of each one, and pick. It's probably not the best method for choosing, but the judges do not watch all of these shows during the year. At least they are impartial and pick what reels move them. Till a better option is presented, this is the way it will remain. One scene that grabs them, wins!
