Why in the world would Eric want to adopt Marcus for? To me it doesnt make any sense what so ever. Its insulting to Marcus and disrespectful to his parents. Is this even legal? Has Eric lost his mind?

Eric has the right to adopt anyone he wants. You all just mad that Donna's child will have a piece of the pie. Don't hate, appreciate. Marcus Logan Barber Walton Forrester.

He can write him into his will without adopting him. So still whats the point of adopting a grown man?

To give him The Forrester Family name. And to legally make him a member of the family. That's the point. When Eric dies his ex, or anyone can't deny him his piece of the pie. Eric love's him.

I think that is another one of those dumb s/l's. I think the writers are just making way for Marcus' dad, Justin, to have some legal claim to him.

They could have written this better, so it doesn't appear to be dumb to the average person.

ITA the writers appear to think that the viewers are dumb and won't see that their s/l's are simply illogical
I also agree with comments on other posts that this is insulting to his adoptive parents and extended adoptive family are they not good enough for Marcus anymore ?He has a rich guy wanting to play daddy now?
P.S. Maybe Marcus should look a little closer at how screwed up the rest of Eric's kids are before he so willingly joins the fold

No one can have legal claim to Marcus. He is an adult over the age of 18. In order not to totally hurt his adoptive parents that raised and loved him . . . he should just leave things the way they are. Eric can always write him into his will and he will share right along with the other children. His adoptive parents deserve more than this. If Marcus allows this - I lose all respect for him. He is too old to be adopted.
