Going way back when they were young Brooke was hell bent on marrying Ridge but he wasn't ready yet, he had just lost Caroline and was not ready to remarry. Brooke decided she would be better off going after his father. She married Eric and had a child with him. Then when it started to look like Ridge was going to settle down with Taylor, Brooke went after him. She claimed the were destined to be together.

Ridge ended up choosing Taylor over Brooke and they were married and happy for many years. Then Taylor's plane went down and she was presumed dead. After greiving his wife Ridge made a life with Brooke. They were together for a long time but then Taylor came back. Ridge was extatic to have his wife back. He still loved Brooke but he made it clear he wanted to be with Taylor, they remarried and were happy until Taylor was shot and presumed dead again. It didn't take long for Brooke to move in. Even though she was married to someone else at the time, I think it was oh wait Ridge's brother Thorne.

Brooke and Ridge got back together and then Ridge started thinking he saw Taylor, which we later found out he did. Again he was happy that Taylor was back, but this time he was not ready to go running right back to her. HE had very strong feelings for Brooke but because of Stephanie's interferance Taylor and Ridge did remamrry. No I will grant this period in their life was a little recky and they ended up splitting up. Partly because Ridge found out Taylor had slept with JAmes but I think and even bigger factor was because Brooke was hanging around. Most of the time in a teddy pushing her own agenda and talking about their great destiny. Keep in mind that in the meantime Brooke had slept with not one but two of her daughters husbands and gotten pregnant by one.

Of course now the show is on the other foot and Brooke is starting to build a life with Nick and she is telling Ridge to move on. Which he did after groveling for several months for Brooke to see his side of things. But the moment it started to turn serious with AShley Brooke forgot about her commitment to Nick and was hot on Ridge's trail again.

Then we fast forward to Australia were Ridge finds Rick, an older man in bed with his then minor daughter Pheobe. HE has the reaction most father's would have. He slugs the guy. Brooke is so horrified by this she tells Ridge it's over and jumps on a plane and in less than 24 hours is literally on top of Nick trying to get him back. Problem being Nick is engaged to Taylor at this point and is not going to throw that away to take Brooke back, especially when he knows she will just end up running back to Ridge.

Brooke spends the next several weeks trying to convince Nick not to marry Taylor, that they belong together. Once she finds out that Taylor baby is from her egg she really turns up the pressure for Nick to be with her but it doesn't work.

She goes crawling back to Ridge saying she was sorry and they are each other's destiny. He resist at first because he is tired of the merry go round, but he gets sucked back in.

Then they start having problems with Rick and we all know what happened there....

Brooke tells Ridge after he confesses having slept with Taylor at Big Bear, even though he was whacked out on traqulizers that this is the one thing she can never forgive. HE has betrayed her and their marrige is over. She even put's his hand in Taylor's and tells him they have hurt each other too much and it is time to stop. He needs peace in his life. And just when he is starting to find it here comes Brooke again.

Sorry I went a little long there. But Brooke has such a history of wanting the man she can't have I am sick of her. Let Ridge have some peace he can still be a father to RJ without having to live with all the drama that comes with being married to Brooke.
