Ok,
I'm confused I've only been watching B&B for maybe about
5 to 8 years. When Rick toasted to Nick & Bridget, he said
something like I'm going to toast to my sister and my brother in law. I thought Bridget is RIDGE'S daughter, NOT Eric's because I thought she was named Bridget half Brooke,
half Ridge? (does that make sense)?

Can someone help me?

when Bridget was born, it was unclear who her father was. At the time of conception Brooke had been with both, Eric and Ridge. So they decided to make a paternity test. At the time of the test, Sheila Carver that nutcase wanted Eric for her own, so she had made advances to him, although he was still married to Brooke, even if only on paper. Eric had told Sheila, that if the test would prove that HE was the father, he would do his utmost to stay married to Brooke. Well Sheila couldn't have that, could she? Somehow she arranged to break into the laboratory where the blood samples of Eric and Ridge were stowed away for the test. But she got distracted while exchanging the etikettes for the lab tubes and when she put them on again she didn't even know herself, whose lab tube was Eric's and which was Ridge's. The test result was, that Ridge was the father - hence the name Bridget. Only Brooke and Sheila were happy with that result! Anyone else had a bad feeling!
Years later, Ridge found a forged latter from Brooke to the doctor which implied that Brooke had bribed the doctor to falsify the test, so that Ridge and not Eric would turn out to be the father of her baby. They made a 2nd test: ERIC is Bridget's father.[/quo

I don't wonder you're confused. I don't know how that family can keep straight who belongs to whom!

And who knows who might have had a hand in that paternity test? Ever wonder why Stephanie always hated Rick with a passion...yet, when it comes to Bridget, the girl can do no wrong? Stephanie just loves her to pieces. We know Rick is Eric's son, because Brooke and Ridge weren't together at the time! But Bridget....makes you wonder?

I had forgotten about that deception.

Ok something else Im confused about? I thought Nick and Katie were planning to be married. How did he wind up with Bridget again? To be honest, Nick and Bridget have tried so many times and I like her with Owen more. Can someone tell me, what made Nick and Katie break up?
