Isn't this the very reason why Rick is so upset with Ridge in the first place? The way he hops in and out of Brooke's life and keep sending her mixed signals.

Question?? Is Rick now justified in his feelings about Ridge?

Rick has always been justified with his feelings against Ridge.....to him, Ridge is the cause of all his mother's pain.

However, what Rick does NOT take into account is Brooke's part in this unhappiness. Rick sees NO accountability for Brooke where as the rest of know that she is equally at fault.

And here we are, 25 years later with the exact same scenario....Brooke crying on the couch because of Ridge and Rick having to pick up the pieces.

Rick is a grown man who caused this mishap. Ridge shown no indication of leaving Brooke. He even accepted Jack into their home. Rick knew how Ridge felt but he kept pushing and pushing. Rick got exactly what he wanted. So how much justification does he need.

Brooke needs to move on. I'm so sick of Ridge, Taylor and Stephanie. Why is it that Brooke has to constantly overlook and forgive Stephanie for all her misdeeds, including causing Brooke to be raped, but Ridge leaves Brooke because he can't forgive Rick for an accident in which his daughter caused.

I was just thinking that Ridge may have played right into Rick's hand. By handling the situation the way he has, he has given Rick more amunition to say that is what he expected Ridge to do, run.

Ridge is considerable older than Rick and I really don't understand how he has allowed this situation to catapult into him going off the deep end by turning to drugs for temporary relief. That's all it is, a bandaid. When he emerges from this phase, the problem will still exist.

I think he should go seek profesional help (and I do not mean Taylor) for his severe depression of Phoebe's death because that is the root of the problem. His inability to deal with Phoebe's death has lead to the fear for his other daughter's safety.

He has to first deal with his depression and then with Steffie's defiance about his feelings for Rick. I am not saying that he should stay under the same roof as Rick, right now he needs to be as far away as possible from Rick. Turning to Taylor though was like jumping out of a frying pan straight into the fire.
