Brooke was absolutely correct when she told Ridge that Rick and Steffy are adults and they will do what they want to do. It doesn't matter how much Ridge freaks out, demands that Brooke make them stop, or forbid them to see each other. They are both adults and they will do absolutely whatever they want to do. It's about time for Ridge to act like a grown up.

I agree. He is using emotional blackmail on Brooke to make her resolve things he can't. Why should Brooke tell her grown son to stay away when Rick can't control Steffy. If you remember when Steffy broke up with Rick, Taylor would not let Ridge interfere, and made him stay upstairs. Taylor knew Steffy was a strong person, like herself, who can take matters into her own hands. Also recall it was Steffy, who, in not so many words, revealed that she and Rick slept together and she didn't regret it. Brooke realizes that no one can tell those two young people what to do. It is obvious Ridge is not wanting to take responsibilty for anything, and wants to blame anyone or anything for his lack of control. You realize that Ridge has made Brooke jump through hoops all these years. He is doing it again, and he runs back to his fall back Taylor when he can't control Brooke. Brooke deserves far better than Ridge.

You are right. Parents can't stopped their children for what are they doing for Stephanie couldn't even stop Ridge from being with Brooke.

I can't argue with these points! They are all on target! Ridge needs serious counseling not popping somebody else's pills, to get him throughthis crisis!

If Ridge thinks Brooke should be able to stop Rick, then Taylor should be able to stop Steffy! Will he demand Taylor to stop Steffy? Of course not because Taylor said she is on his side. Instead of lying to him and pretend to support him, Brooke is being realistic. What does Ridge think it would happen if Brooke told Rick that he can't be with Steffy? Rick would say 'yes, Mommy'? Rick and Steffy would just run away somewhere else to be together. Let them be, and soon they will be get tired of each other. If Ridge doesn't let Rick get to him, eventually, Rick will be tired of trying and leave Steffy. Ridge needs to wake up. Love that comes with strings is not real love. Run Brooke run! Take this chance to find a real man that will love you and your kids unconditionally!!

ITA Brooke is seeing things as they are and she honestly has no control over Rick. Remember that Brooke has never been able to control Rick because he is strong willed.

As a teenager, he got involved with his then baby sitter, Amber, and even married her. Both and Brooke and Eric tried to talk Rick out of it and he was just too stubborn and did what he wanted to.

He knows she can't stop them but she can try to help him and she can support him vs her disgusting son. That is really all he was asking of her by asking to tell them she forbids it. INstead the moron falls for her son and condones it but of course she would, this is Brooke and she was always all about Brooke not caring who got hurt in her yrs of tormoil in everyone lives including her messed up son. So glad he dumped her!

Brooke knows one thing that Ridge object Rick to be with Steffy from experience. For I do recall Stephanie trying Taylor to be with Ridge and not her.

How soon they forget? Both Ridge and Taylor have forgotten that Brooke forgave Thomas for trying to kill her son twice. She supported Ridge then by not turning Thomas into the cops. That act of kindness didn't count for anything I guess. She seems to be the only one that have any sense lately.

What Brooke said to Ridge when he put her in that position of telling Rick and Steffy what he wanted her to, she couldn't do it and I agree with most of these posts here. Rick and Steffy are grown and they will do what they want when they want. Ridge cannot control them and neither can Brooke. She was right. If Rick and Steffy are making a mistake, they, themselves need to learn from it. And the more Ridge fights it, the more they will want to be together.

Totally agree. I bet if Ridge gave his blessing to that relationship, Rick would drop Steffi like a hot potato.
