Monday Episode (Spoiler)
Touched
image

Stephanie finally realizes who huge a mistake she has made by allying herself with Bill and she attempts to back out! She refuses to give him any more information on Eric, so does some research with Jarrett. What they find is quite shocking! It seems Eric has been supplying social security information of dead people to illegal alien workers so that he can pay them less to work! Stephanie then informs Eric that she has ended her vendetta against the company and informs Eric was Bill has!

Nick threatens to fire Owen, and he and Jackie find a way to get back at Nick! This would be the time to turn your TV off!

Now THAT really disappoints me! I wouldn't have expected Eric to be so mean, avaricious and Scrooge-like!!! FIE!!

Nick tries to get his mother back all for himself... BAH! He should know what it is like to be in love in spite of everyone saying "This can't happen!" Don't be so prudish Nicky! Let your mom have some fun!!!

swantje, it's not an uncommon practice in California to do that! I would wager to say hundreds of businessmen do it all over the country. Farmers don't even have to be that crafty!

I'm sure other countries that have a huge influx of alien workers, have the same problems!

My grandmother says he can go es to jail even if he didn't know anything about it. But, she said also that she wouldn't put it past Stephanie to have done this.

Loving the Power Struggle s/l... It's nice the writers are giving us something relating to the actual purpose of the show , The Ruthless side of the Fashion Business, more of the inner workings.... So strange all of a sudden here are some of the sewing crews, cleaning crews, these people Eric and Steph knows so well, even helped educate some of their children. Eric is dirty on some levels, and Steph will do absolutely anything to keep stress and mondaine details from Eric so he can concentrate on his design.....

I love the fact there is a change from sex, sex, sex, to some business and some shady dealings. Yes, the Forrester's have always used tricks, and ways to claw there way to the top. I am glad to see them get into trouble, but you know being a Forrester, they will do no jail time.

Jackie is just as bad, she try's to get back at Nick, this is crazy!??? I used to like her, but lately the writer's have changed her into a sex crazed woman.
I would rather watch Rick and Steffy than Owen and Jackie.

That's true! Anyone in the company could have done it, but ultimately, Eric owns the company and he takes responsibility regardless! To tell you the truth, I wouldn't put it past Thorne to have done this!

You can't really blame the businesses that do that! Their counterparts move into these 3rd world countries and pay workers even less! They see their profits go up while the companies that stay in the U.S. see profits go down! Blame NAFTA and our politicians!

Oh, Stephanie knows about the illegals being employed with the company!

Absolutely. It is done all over the country on a daily basis. Illegal aliens steal the identities of people, dead or alive.

You had better believe that the authorites are aware of this problem. However, they prefer to deal with it when these people are caught. The problem is too hugh.

I would think that they would be much smarter now. Didn't they find themselves in this situation before? Didn't one of Taylor's kids marry someone to stop him or her from being deported. I think there was an INS raid on FC or Spectra before. Can't remember the details but this illegal alien thing has surfaced on B&B more than once in the past.

Well, I guess money can buy you a lot of things.

Quote kari916: The social security thing seems weird.Does anyone know if this is really possible?

Yes, this is very common. A company can hire someone without really checking the SS # or ID. Some companies know that the paperwork of the employee is false and would hire them anyway. If the government get a tip on the company then they will schedule a raid for that company, the undocumented workers would run away, then come back with a new ID and SS# and the company would hire them back for even less pay. One person could be named ABC, ss# 1234, and come back named DEF ss# 4567 with the same picture. I have seem it happen..... It's totally wrong. The employee's even get a welfare check in other names as well as there wives getting aide as well as having 2 or 3 names was well. They send the money back home to their country. USA land of the FREE. I hate this....

Touched doesn't Brooke have 51% of the company and she is the deciding vote for what happens.Which mean that she would be held responsible for any misdeeds that happen at FC.I am pretty sure that she has more stock in the company than anyone. So that would make her the one that has to answer the piper! Maybe I am wrong but I beleive this to be the truth.
Also that is why when they wanted Thomas on broad it had to be by Brookes approval.

She actually had 52% of the company, Stephanie gave 50% and Steven got the other 2% from Taylor! She sold it to Nick when he forced the sale of the company from the Forresters! Everyone invested in Forrester Originals! So I imagine they have a piece of that! I don't know how it works to own a subsidiary of a company! I'm sure Eric transferred everyone's interests over into sometype of dividends, but he is the sole owner of FC! Hopefully, he had atr-nuptial aggreement drawn up when he married Donna! I can't imagine that he didn't! I know where you are going with this and no, Brooke can't be held responsible for the hiring of illegal aliens, unless her name is on the paperwork.

Since this guy worked down in shipping, I'm guessing Thorne probably knew something!
