But the mere fact that you come on this particular thread and say that "you are not trying to start anything" clearly indicates that you are trying to start something. Frankly, just because you are friends with some of my posting buddies, doesn't give you a free pass in my book. This is the exact same thing that I was talking about earlier. You say that there is only one lord, the baby jesus....other religions don't believe that. You say what makes us so special that we want answers...my response is what makes you so insecure that you don't? You say that if one of our loved ones was ill we would turn to god...I say that is a biased opinion. You should perhaps read what we have written. You say that we should open our hearts or something equivilant....but then you shut yours when it comes to acceptance of other beliefs. And Amanda...You really didn't have anything of import to add....so I really don't know how to respond to you. The fact remains that there are several threads and several believers on this board that I have no problem with....they don't come into threads and argue their christianity....Dcorn and Chy probably don't agree with anything I say LOL but they don't come where clearly they would create upset. I believe they do that out of respect, which you two clearly lack. Just as I do not go into their prayer, shepherd threads and disrespect their beliefs. So to you two, I say practice what you preach. Stay to your own threads...this isn't a conversion thread. So, perhaps you could create one? Plot, what an articulate, intelligent post!!! and i thank you for that. and this will be the last time you see me post on this thread. btw, sorry about mr.pop crashing your thread. |

Literal translations just don't work precisely for that reason. |

Boy do I agree with you and Plot. Why do they come in this thread if they don't like it. WTH??? Is it simply to act so much better than the posters in this thread. That is the only thing I can figure out. I do NOT see one no-beliver going to their threads talking down to them and trying to change their minds. I find it sickening that people are judged as being bad because of a belief not a fact but a belief. So much judging!!!! WHERE does the bible say "now all you believers go out there and judge everybody for me". I mean surely it must say it somewhere. Why else would so many think of it as their duty to judge? If you want to know the reason I do NOT go to church, the reason so many do NOT go to church AND the reason many more will NEVER go to church then go back and read posts made in this very thread by a so called believer. The attitude projected in those posts and people with attitudes like that are the ones that make people non believers .........................And that really is a FACT!!!! |

Bad idea we used plastic eggs and my son cut his lip on one and bleed all over his brand new shirt it was a fiasco so we cut it short and mom went home and had a few shots of Patron after the kids were sleepin. I didn't look at the link u have posted but I always wondered how all these people can have different version of the bible like the king james versions and stuff never understood that? |

I love Seattle! I was there a few years ago for a wedding and I always want to go back. Sorry about the little guy getting hurt with the egg....stuff happens though... About the different versions of the bible...I know that the living bible is something that is translated more in the manner that it can be understood easier. King James is supposed to be the literal translation I believe. what I find interesting about christianity is that it has so many elements of different religions....for example, back when the catholic church was growing (centuries ago) they would absorb a church and keep some of the traditions of that church/religion in an effort to ease the transition. I still don't know where the easter bunny comes into play though lol.... |

I dunno if anyone watches Y&R but I was just on the message board reading a thread on how they are starting a gay s/l! You should have seen the outrage over there! I couldn't count the times I seen the words (sin), (never watch again) ! I just think its so funny how closed minded people are. If you don't like it don't look at it. Some Americans have the mind set of "if we don't understand it it has to be BAD"! If you guys wanna check it out I think its titled "out of the closet" or something |
