Newt was the darling of the right just a few moments ago, it seemed, but now he's in a battle with the lunatic fringe of his own party.

Rush Limbaugh zeroed in on Newtie today and took out his rage against Gingrich and the "party bosses" because he supported a moderate conservative over the Palin-Beck-Limbaugh teabagger nominee named Doug Hoffman and Hoffman lost. Sarah Palin has as much egg on her face as the rest of them do. When a district like NY-23 comes up for election, a republican always wins. Their purity test helped lose them a guaranteed seat. Pretty awesome.

LIMBAUGH: Here is -- these are my thoughts on New York-23. In the first place, I'll have to double check this, but I'm reasonably sure that this was the highest percentage of the vote ever won on the Conservative Party line by a House or Senate candidate. I think Hoffman had a higher percentage of the vote than even James Buckley, who won his U.S. Senate race on the -- against or against this Gooddell guy, Charles Gooddell, in the '70s. So, that's one thing.

But, the right message; we cannot forget how this whole thing happened in the first place. There was not a primary. The right message here would indict the way party bosses, Republican Party bosses and these big thinkers like Newt screwed the whole thing up from the get go.

I am neither Dem or Rep. I don't know what I am, just not partisan I guess. My daughter calls me a Liberal Republican!

I live in S. FL and do not like or respect Mr. Rush! He of his exclusive Everglades club that allows no blacks, no jewish people! He is a bigoted hypocrite and I do not see why Republicans hang on every word he says.

Anyway, the reason for this post is a question. My BIL, on facebook yesterday, said Obama says no h1n1 vaccine for people over 65. Now, this can't be true is it? Where did this come from? He said he heard it on Fox News. HA!! Never listen to cable news! Do any of you know where this might have come from?

Hi Calli! Thank you for your posting on our thread--we don't bite, but you have to watch out for PuddyCat--her claws are too sharp for some of us in here...

I'm sorry but your BIL is misinformed. The H1N1 vaccine is encouraged to be received by those in high risk categories first (kids, people with suppressed immune systems, pregnant women, etc). Then, otherwise healthy adults can get the shot.

Current studies indicate that the risk for infection among persons 65 and older is less than the risk for younger age groups.

Obama did not say that elderly citizens can't get the swine flu shot, that is a flat and all out lie. Surprisingly, H1N1 isn't affecting this age group like the others, so if anything that is a HUGE BLESSING.

Please have your BIL and your family visit the CDD website for more info--it's really thorough and to the point. I hate what Fox News does to people who seek the truth and get deception and crap in return...

btw--IMO, I think liberal Republicans and conservative Democrats are pretty much the same.

He was very disturbed that the President found our age group dispensible! He is a staunch Christian Republican and definitely not an Obama fan! We tried to tell him that NO President, whatever party, could just decide that on his own. He SAYS he also called his state's Health Department and they said no vaccine over 65. I think he hears what he wants to hear! I will tell him to check CDC.
Thanks!

Not to mention how all the out-of-state money and outside groups who contribute and sing lip-service to state candidates influence republ. state elections. It isn't only the state voters who have a say in their own elections - the outsiders have a large say as well.

Regarding the Swine flu vaccine - went to the Doctor's the other day for my regular flu shot and asked weather I should get the Swine shot and he said, "probably not, because anyone born before 1954 has already been exposed or even had it years ago, and didn't even know it". And, he is very aware of my high-risk medical issues. So I probably won't get the shot only because it is in such short supply at the moment, I feel reassured that I'm probably going to be okay.

Eppy, that's very good news! What you did by going to your doctor and ASKING questions about the vaccine and your health is what everyone should be doing---instead of listening or watching a bunch of lying talking heads spew venom and fear at people who just want to know the truth. Fox News disgusts me on so many levels I've lost count...

Great, Calliope! I hope he gets the knowledge and wisdom he needs to make the right decisions for his health. This vaccine is not a politicial issue nor a religious issue--it's a human issue. Perhaps if that point is driven home more than the other stuff, then he will have a A-HA moment with a smile on his face.

I just don't understand the mentality of how some people think the President has absolute control over their bodies and lives. Sure, the government sets laws into place and governs, but there is a judiciary and legislative body that provides checks and balances to what a President is able or not able to do.

If the President tells you to stop drinking water, would you do it? No, and I don't need to call up my Senator to support my decision...LMAO

I pray your BIL and anyone who thinks this way about Obama will truly get revelation knowledge about what the Scripture says: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him." (James 1:5)

I know this personally---when you get an answer or confirmation in your spirit from the Holy Spirit, fear/doubt/anger will not be in the midst.

Yep - Limbaugh and those numbnuts on FOX NOISE are posing as experts on everything from medical issues, to....you name it. They love to portray themselves as the all-knowing, superior, be all's and end all's. Just looking at Limbaugh and listening to his blather proves he's got a screw loose - why anyone would take his word on anything is beyond me...he lives in his own little world of 'Ain't-I-Just-Wonderful-Land". Barf!

You know...I have to hold out hope that evil like that doesn't last very long, and will soon burn out. Pillbaugh and his cronies will have to pay the piper sooner or later!

I RESEMBLE THAT REMARK, OSPHREY!!! What about the claws on that horrible looking tiger on your avatar!!!

You know, sometimes I just get actually sick to my stomach with the hate that is still going on re: our president.

Today I was watching The View and they had Shepard Smith, from Faux News as a guest. He is actually quite cool, since he only reports the NEWS - - not his views.

Anyway, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, a very STRONG AND BIG MOUTH REPUBLICAN, kept trying to trick him into giving an opinion - - just kept it up, especially about the White House situation with Fox News. The man would NOT give in to her and she finally shut up. I loved watching that show when she was away on maternity leave - - now she is back and I just don't like watching it that much anymore.

Anybody else who watches the view and have any takes on that woman?

LOLOL...Puddy, guess what, that piece of meat that my tiger is swimming after is the last bit of your cat's tail...Muuuu haa ha ahaa ha haaaaa...

TRUCE!

Sorry, I don't watch 'The View,' and even if I could I wouldn't choose too---I can barely stand Barbara WaWa on her own, and Hasselbeck is a crazy pill that I cannot swallow. It's like watching a robot speak which has been downloaded with 'love everything Republican even the bad stuff.'

I often wondered why that ugly tiger looked so deformed - - he is actually swimming under water?

You know, I really only watch the view because I really like Whoppi - - but I love to watch Joy Behar (very, very strong Democrat) shut Hasselbeck's big flopping mouth - - always, always, against the president. That's why I love Joy's new show on HLN! She is a riot and very knowledgeable. Great show - - watch it if you get a chance.

Forgot to mention - - and ALMOST posted it on the wrong thread - - I would have been dead meat - - all the other cable news station are covering the Fort Hood situation, completely, but FOXIE NEWS is able to switch back and forth we can still listen to Bill O'Silly, give his nasty comments again our president.
