I love Obama's freeze on CEO salary! Anyone who can't live on $500,000 per year when they are losing their a$$ at their job needs a wake up call.

wonder how rush will spin that?

Here's a Repulican solution to budget problems. The Republican Mayor of New York City has cut the number of agencies providing Meals On Wheels to the elderly throught out the 5 boroughs from 30 to 6!! The result...elderly people going without meals. There was an blind, hard of hearing elderly woman in the borough of Queens who went without a meal delivery for two days.
The New York City Commissioner on Aging, has stated:
They realize now the cuts may have been too severe and are working on a solution.

OMFG!!! That is so ridiculous but it makes perfect sense. Got to pay those CEO's someway. Why not let a few elderly people die for the cause? Leave it to the Republicans to starve their own grandma to pad their pockets.

Right on! I'm all for information! That's what the whole lifting of the gag law was about. Giving woman information about their own healthcare. Under the Bush law people were not allowed to even mention the word abortion. Many women in some of those countries were dying from illeagal abortion because the clinics would lose funding if they said the word abortion...and then Bush would re-route the money to abstinence only programs, and then these woman were forced to seek out back room abortions, which many wound up dying from. How hateful is that?
Well at least we have a president now who respects women and isn't looking to put them into aprons and burka's!!!

Tell me about it you guys... I think that some Republicans should tattoo the word abortion on their forheads. It would save them a lot of repeditive yacking. That is the old "stand by" argument. When there is nothing else they can find to biotch about they play that samme old *yawn* abortion card. When they are losing an argument that grab for the abortion card to cover their uninformed butts. You would have thought that their little Bushy would have taken care of Roe Wade for them. TOO FUNNY that NOT ONE single Republican they elected because of the "abortion issue" got Roe vs Wade knocked down for them. Now how many years worth of Republicans have they had since Roe Wade???? GMAFB!

I usually just forward his stuff to friends, but I figured I would also start posting it here. If you're interested in stopping abstinence only programs...it takes less then a minute to fill it out and send the e-mail.

During a February 3 interview with Sen. John McCain on Fox News' Hannity, host Sean Hannity claimed that Mark McKinnon, chief media adviser to former President Bush and a former McCain chief media strategist, is "a pollster for the Democrats." Hannity continued: "[H]e's saying, and these are his words, 'This [economic recovery] bill is like a rotting corpse. Every day this thing sits in the sunlight, it starts to stink more.' " Neither Hannity nor McCain, who said he "agree[d]" with McKinnon, noted that McKinnon was a senior McCain aide during McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, through May 2008. During the February 4 edition of his program, Hannity similarly claimed that McKinnon is a "Democratic pollster" and on February 5, claimed that McKinnon is a "Democratic strategist," in both cases citing McKinnon's "rotting corpse" remark. In addition to his senior roles with Bush and the McCain campaign, McKinnon said in November 2008, "I consider myself a moderate Republican." Fox News itself has previously identified McKinnon as a former aide to Bush and McCain and a "Republican strategist."

In his February 6 Washington Post column, Charles Krauthammer asserted that the economic recovery legislation supported by President Obama contains "hundreds of billions that have nothing to do with stimulus, that Congress's own budget office says won't be spent until 2011 and beyond," echoing myths about the legislation often repeated by media figures and conservatives. But economists, including Congressional Budget Office (CBO) director Douglas Elmendorf, have stated that all of the government spending in the recovery package "provides some stimulative effect." Elmendorf has also stated that fiscal stimulus in 2011 or later would be effective in the current economic situation, in which economic output is projected to remain below its potential even after the beginning of the recovery.

Contrary to Krauthammer's assertion, in his January 27 congressional testimony, Elmendorf explicitly refuted the suggestion that some of the spending provisions in the bill would not have a stimulative effect, stating: "[I]n our estimation -- and I think the estimation of most economists -- all of the increase in government spending and all of the reduction in tax revenue provides some stimulative effect. People are put to work, receive income, spend that on something else. That puts somebody else to work." Additionally, Dean Baker, co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research, has stated, "[S]pending is stimulus. Any spending will generate jobs. It is that simple."
