Quote lovesit: cats meow - can I ask what kind of shots? I ask b/c I have had a lot of shots in my back over the years - really into my top hip bone. They were pain blocks and nerve blocks. They caused more pain than they covered and one I even had to get without anesthesia.
Imagine, it was in the office, he pulls out a needle literally a foot long and about a 1000 gauge, and as he is injecting my S1 nerve hole (in the pelvis bone) he tells me "Now tell me if you feel this in your toes, b/c that means I am hitting too many nerves at once and I need to back off.) Needless to say, I felt it in my toes and the whole office heard me scream! The poor nurse had to call someone to hold my hand and hold me down so I wouldn't squirm since he did not seem able to make me not feel it in my toes. Is your's a horror story like that?
Oh, and David Carusoe was good looking too...

i am going to start a thread about this

Last night, Rush Limbaugh came to Washington, D.C. to address the President’s Club Dinner, a meeting of wealthy donors and supporters of the Heritage Foundation. The audience included Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC), as well as various millionaire trustees of the Heritage Foundation, like Thomas Saunders.

After more or less reprising his radio show routine, Limbaugh went on to brag about his $400 million contract with Clear Channel Communications. As he continued to gloat about his show’s success, Limbaugh mocked the idea that Americans are suffering, noting, “I’ve never had financially a down year” despite the “supposed” recession:

LIMBAUGH: But during all this growth I haven’t lost any audience. I’ve never had financially a down year. There’s supposedly a recession, but we’ve got - what is this May? Back in February we already had 102% of 2008 overbooked for 2009. [applause] So I always believed that if we’re going to have a recession, just don’t participate. [laughter]

Limbaugh is no stranger to belittling the poor and dismissing the economic troubles of others. In March, Limbaugh scoffed at a question on homeless children, asking, “Would somebody tell me the last time you saw a kid sleeping under a bridge?”

As Media Matters reported, even Limbaugh’s employer Clear Channel is struggling under the weight of the recession. Already this year, Clear Channel has “shed nearly 3,000 employees, or 12 percent of its workforce.” While Limbaugh jets around the country in his $54 million Gulfstream G550, laughing off the recession, does he even realize that his own bloated contract is contributing to the rising unemployment rate?

that is great advice just don't participate in the recession, why didn't we think of that, what a blow hard!!!

oh yes, and his audience was laughing, how nice

Bill O'Reilly claimed that pedophiles could be protected under the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, which defines as a federal crime acts of violence motivated by prejudice against people with disabilities, among others. But pedophilia is not considered a "disability" under current federal law.
On the May 5 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, host Bill O'Reilly falsely claimed that pedophiles could be protected under the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act -- which defines as a crime acts of attempted violence "motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of the victim." Specifically, O'Reilly said: "You could make an argument that a pedophile has a disease, and because the disease is there, he's a target or she's a target." O'Reilly later added that pedophiles could be protected by the bill because "disability is included. They have a mental disability." However, pedophilia is not considered a "disability" under current federal law. Indeed, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), specifically excludes pedophilia, thereby precluding protection for pedophiles from the hate crimes bill. Additionally, on May 6, America's Newsroom co-host Megyn Kelly joined other Fox hosts in advancing the false claim that Democrats "voted to protect" pedophiles by voting against an amendment to the hate crimes bill by Rep. Steve King (R-IA) stating that "the term 'sexual orientation' shall not include pedophilia."

While discussing the Democrats' opposition to King's amendment, O'Reilly suggested that by defining as crimes acts of attempted violence "motivated by prejudice based on the actual or perceived ... disability of the victim," the underlying bill could protect pedophiles because "a psychiatrist would make an argument ... they have a disease. They can't control themselves." O'Reilly also stated that "you could make an argument that a pedophile has a disease, and because the disease is there, he's a target or she's a target." After Fox News contributor Marc Lamont Hill later stated, "when we talk about sexual orientation, you're not talking about ... pedophilia," O'Reilly replied, "Disability is included. They have a mental disability."

The only group defined by the hate crimes bill is "gender identity," which is defined as "actual or perceived gender-related characteristics." During an April 23 House Judiciary Committee hearing about the bill, Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) said that the reason "gender identity" is defined in the bill is because "that definition exists nowhere else in federal law. This is the first time it's occurring in federal law." Referring to the other groups protected by the bill but not defined within it, Baldwin said: "But in every other case, gender, disability, sexual orientation, race, national origin, color, and -- I'm missing one. The architecture of the hate crime statutes in the United States is those definitions do not lay within that architecture. They exist elsewhere in federal law, and we rely on them."

Indeed, the current version of the ADA defines the term "disability" as, "with respect to an individual":

(A) a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life

activities of such individual;

(B) a record of such an impairment; or

(C) being regarded as having such an impairment

But contrary to O'Reilly's claim that pedophiles could be covered under the hate crimes bill because "they have a mental disability," the ADA also specifically states: "the term 'disability' shall not include ... pedophilia."

Additionally, on America's Newsroom, teasing an interview with King, Kelly claimed that "the Democrats on this committee voted -- essentially, the charge is -- to protect pedophiles. ... Is that true? The author of the amendment, the man who tried to block the protection for pedophiles, joins us now." During her interview with King, Kelly repeated the false charge, saying: "You thought it would be a good idea to make sure -- since they're adding sexual orientation to the bill -- to make sure that pedophilia doesn't get swept up into a special protection. That people who commit sex crimes against children don't get special protection as 'hate crime' victims if somebody does something to them -- and every Democrat voted it down?"

However, Democrats did not "vote to protect pedophiles" by voting down King's amendment to define "sexual orientation" because pedophiles are not protected by the bill. As Baldwin noted in her statement opposing King's amendment during the April 23 hearing, the term "sexual orientation" is already defined by the Hate Crimes Statistics Act as "consensual homosexuality or heterosexuality," thereby excluding pedophiles, who engage in nonconsensual sexual relationships with children. In providing her reasons for opposing King's amendment, Baldwin said that it "is unnecessary and, I would add, inflammatory in terms of insinuations."

On-screen text featured during the segment echoed Kelly's false claims, asserting as fact that Democrats "Voted to Protect Pedophiles."

Well I have only seen O'Reilly, and Limbaugh a few times, but I was able to see instantly that they were opportunistic blow hards and liars. Anyone who is not able to see that I would have to wonder about their intelligence. JMO.

Washington, D.C. - Today, Media Matters for America demanded an apology for columnist and CBS golf analyst David Feherty's assertion that "if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death."

"Mr. Feherty's violent comments about Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are disgusting," said Eric Burns, President of Media Matters. "Suggesting that our troops would attack the leaders of the very democracy they've sworn to sacrifice their lives for is an insult to their integrity, honor, and professionalism. CBS Sports should demand its golf analyst apologize to our soldiers."

In a feature for the April issue of D Magazine, five writers - including Feherty - were asked to explore "how the Bushes will affect our lives in Dallas." Feherty wrote in his piece:

From my own experience visiting the troops in the Middle East, I can tell you this, though: despite how the conflict has been portrayed by our glorious media, if you gave any U.S. soldier a gun with two bullets in it, and he found himself in an elevator with Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Osama bin Laden, there's a good chance that Nancy Pelosi would get shot twice, and Harry Reid and bin Laden would be strangled to death. I've never met a soldier who didn't love this president and this country, and I've met a bunch of them, at home and abroad, in hospitals and in theater. At Walter Reed, Bethesda Naval Medical Center, and the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, I have visited dozens of patients, and I always ask of them before I leave: "What do you want to do when you get out?" No matter how broken or burned, or how many limbs they are missing, they give only one answer: "I want to go back. I want to rejoin my team, to finish our mission." They are rightfully proud of what they have done and want nothing more than to be with their brothers and sisters in arms, because they know the consequences if their job is left unfinished.

The timely blog Teablogging has revealed its sources:

According to documents obtained by Teablogging by running a goddamned simple Nexis search on the internets, national Tea Party organizer, Top Conservatives on Twitter cofounder and TCOTReport.com publisher Michael P. Leahy has, over the past 16 years, amassed nearly $150,000 in state and federal tax liens, small claims court judgments and civil suits.

Teablogging has .pdfs of all the documentation. My own impression looking them over is that Mike thinks the rules are for everyone else. Why protest taxes if you think you're not required to pay 'em in the first place?

Cheney personally ordered waterboarding of POW

http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-05-13/cheneys-role-deepens/<... />
*Two U.S. intelligence officers confirm that Vice President Cheney’s office suggested waterboarding an Iraqi prisoner, a former intelligence official for Saddam Hussein, who was suspected to have knowledge of a Saddam-al Qaeda connection.

*The former chief of the Iraq Survey Group, Charles Duelfer, in charge of interrogations, tells The Daily Beast that he considered the request reprehensible.

*Much of the information in the report of the 9/11 Commission was provided through more than 30 sessions of torture of detainees.

Only 21% of Americans now identify themselves as Republican!

voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/parsing-the-polls/21-percent.html

The new Washington Post/ABC news poll has all sorts of intriguing numbers in it but when you are looking for clues as to where the two parties stand politically there is only one number to remember: 21.

That's the percent of people in the Post/ABC survey who identified themselves as Republicans, down from 25 percent in a late March poll and at the lowest ebb in this poll since the fall of 1983(!).

In that same poll, 35 percent self-identified as Democrats and 38 percent called them Independents.
