Concerning Tom Daschle and his possible appointment as Secretary of Health and Human Services, I for one find the 128,000 owed in back taxes, (which includes over stating some charitable contributions)concerning. Also IMHO his ties with Health Industry Distributors, The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, and American Health Insurance Plans, is a lot more concerning for an appointment to such a position as Health and Human Services Secretary.

BUT WHAT I find more appalling and outragous is the IRS plan for corporations these past eight years, and hope Obama puts a stop to this. Did you know that corporations get to negotiate their taxes with the IRS? For us their are tax laws we must follow, we don't get to negoiate? Can you imagine calling the IRS and saying you wanted to negotiate your tax bill?
Here's an example of some American corporations tax deals:
In Vietnam Corporation X makes a sneaker that costs them one dollar, while that sneaker is on the ship heading to America for sale Corporation X sells the sneaker to itself under a Dummy Corporation in the Caymen Islands, for say 80 dollars. Then the Dummy Corporations sels the sneaker to America merchants for 120 dollars. The American merchants then sell the sneaker for 200 dollars. The American merchant has made 80 dollars in profit which he/she has to pay taxes on. Corporation X has made a profit of 119 dollars TAX FREE. The Dummy Corporation, which is usually just a bank account (meaning no overhead), in the Caymen's does not have to pay US taxes; even though Corporation X is an American company!!!!

This DISGUSTS me, and I hope the Obama Administration doesn't allow Bush's swindle on the tax payers to contiue.

I agree, cats! We are Democrats...we don't bow down before our party politicians and agree with whatever they do just because they are in our party of choice. Politics works like a convention oven, not a microwave...real change comes from the outside in, not the inside out.
At least Obama seems like a politician who will listen to the voice of the people.

The Pentagon has finally released the figures for the number of civilian deaths in Iraq. Information was already known about the 4 million civillians who were displaced, 2 million of them leaving the country, now we know that 95,236 civillians have been killed since the occupation.

New administration....more transparency. At least now we'll know what the government is getting up to.

I love Obama's freeze on CEO salary! Anyone who can't live on $500,000 per year when they are losing their a$$ at their job needs a wake up call.
