I did not know that mamabing had passed away and did not see anything about it in this thread. Oh Lord, I have printed out at least 10 of her recipes and made about 5 of them. Didn't she have young children or grandchildren. What happened? It must have been sudden. God love here, she gave so much to others here on this thread. You must not have been posting here yet when mama died- there was a thread dedicated to her- Thank you very much for your reply, gommie. I googled the thread and found it. You're right - - I was offline for almost two months at that time while I was moving. I was wondering why I no longer saw her recipes. She surely took a tremendous amount of time to type all those recipes out. Guess she is cooking for the angels now. Hmmmmmmm... I didn't realize you had been posting that long- time does fly- you are welcome-- Yup - - been on about a year now - - didn't post much in the beginning but I did print many of mammabing's recipes. One that I made that was very simple and good was her BLT Wraps - - and had to double the recipe. Everyone loved them. Thanks again, as I was glad I could find that thread - - it was beautiful and she had many, many friends. No kidding? I don't know how I missed that- have you been posting here that long or were you on of the other soaps..I bet that's it-- the only soap I watch is Y&R and not even it anymore--so that would explain how I missed you- maybe? As I said, I have been on a year and only read the posts before I started posting. I have only posted on the Y&R MB board - - don't watch any other soaps, never have, but got hooked on Y&R because I love Nikki and Victor from way back in the day. Did come on this thread many times and printed out lots of recipes (just the very simple ones Getting ready to barbeque now for some friends - - I CAN make a good potato salad, and grilling can be done by the men! Have a great remainder of the holiday weekend. Boy, such strength of will power- I can't even begin to imagine being able to come here for a year and just lurk and not post- what finally was the deciding factor that made you jump in, stop lurking and start posting? Do you remember? |

gommie - - I came in this thread a few days ago to look for a recipe for the holiday weekend. I noticed someone had posted about remembering mambing and posted a question about her. You gave me the answer and I appreciate it. |

You gave me the answer and I appreciate it. I have no idea why you continue to ask me questions about my posting, but I do not think it is relevant in this thread. Thank you. I guess relevancy is only b/c we started the conversation in this thread- mama was my very good friend and she would not mind at all- I am fascinated by people who can lurk for a year before deciding to post- actually you are the only poster I have ever known who has done that- I am very curious at which point you decided to take the plunge so to speak- and join the rest of us-or do you mean you only lurked in the lounge but posted freely at the Y&R board? I am curious about what was happening at the time that made the decision for you to join us? |

You were the first to answer my post and then continued to ask me questions about my posting habits, etc. I answered all your questions. As far as you saying "lurked for a year", if you will reread my post, I never used the word "lurk" and merely said I had been on for a year and just read threads before I posted. If you need any more information regarding me or my posting habits, feel free to send me your email and I will gladly email you and answer any further questions you may have. Will not be answering any more of your questions on this thread. Thank you. |

Oh heck lurk is just a phrase we old timers use for those who just read and for whatever reason do not post- I used the word lurked, not you-so you mean you were posting on the Y&R board during that year, but just lurking in the lounge? I misunderstood- I thought you were lurking both places for a year- and was confused if you had been posting for that long why it was I didn't remember you posting for that length of time-I thought you were a fairly new poster within the last 3-4 months or so when you posted here in mama's thread a few days ago- I'm sorry if all my questions are irritating you- I am just curious about what makes a person finally start posting after they have spent time lurking. |

Cool Spaghetti Salad |

I came upon the lounge and since I love cooking and collect cookbooks, I figured this is a thread I'd really enjoy and I've gotten some wonderful new recipes from it. Mamabing sounds like a great lady and since she started this, I just don't want to let it fade away. |

Dressing 1/2 cup mayonnaise 1 Tablespoon garlic salt 2 Tablespoons vinegar 2 Tablespoons sugar 2 Tablespoons French dressing (can use fat-free) Mix above and pour over salad. Chill. Is good for 1 week if it lasts that long. This sounds good.... although i would leave out the mayo thanks.. |
