Quote DolphinQueen1987: Dcorn, That story really got to me in a good way!! I am so sorry you went through that!! I am so happy you are now happy again!! Here is mine!! I was 7 years old and I was raped and my sister 4 at the time we were both raped by the same man!! He never went to jail for it but as I got older I started remembering and my grades dropped so much that my parents decided to let me live with my grandmother and grandfather in the 5th grade!! My grandfather was the best man I knew he was always there!! I went to church everyday but I still didn't accept him until I was 11 years old and I will never forget the song that we were singing when god came in to my life it was How great thou art!! I cried and I felt as if god was telling me that he was there and I just started balling and that is when I knew he was there for me!! So that is my story!! sorry that happened to you. what a great story about your faith. i was 9 when i got saved. |

The stories Dcorn and DolphinQueen shared remind me of a sermon I read about...it was about giving thanks for everything. It is real easy to be thankful for the good that you have received, but we also must be thankful for the difficult times, because in all we are given it is God that gave it to us. Even in a bad situation there is good that will come of it. Trust and have faith in God..he know's what he is doing. And you just might find the good that is coming to you. |

I guess whatever helps you cope more power to you. Personally I don't believe in god, but I respect everyone's right to do so. For me it gives me so much strength and confidence not believeing, and the freedom to pursue intellectual interests. I have a Muslim friend who gets a lot of strength from her beliefs, and we talk about it, and I find some of it very interesting. I was brought in the christian faith, but the Muslim religion in a philosophical sphere is so much more fasinating. I don't think if I believed in god that I would be able to see the value of other religions other then my own, JMO, do you know what I mean? |

After reading your post I would like to share this thought with all of you...I edited from an email I received and think the message it holds is worth sharing. It compares the good/bad in life to the flower and thorns of a rose. |

It compares the good/bad in life to the flower and thorns of a rose. 'My God, I have never thanked You for my thorns. I have thanked You a thousand times for my roses, but never once for my thorns. Teach me the glory of the cross I bear; teach me the value of my thorns. Show me that I have climbed closer to You along the path of pain. Show me that, through my tears, the colors of Your rainbow look much more brilliant.' Praise Him for the roses; thank Him for the thorns. God Bless all of you. Be thankful for all that the Lord does for you. 'Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God.' We often try to fix problems with WD-40 and Duct tape. God did it with nails. I'm the world's worst at not thanking God for my thorns, only for the roses. My prayer today is to start being thankful for the thorns I know they will help me grow. I pray this for you also. All of the posters on this board now hold a special place in my heart I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. God Bless, Shelly That is beautiful . This is a true story , it has thorns in it. My granddaughter inlaw was in a car with her three month old son..my great grandson. She was in the front seat with him and her dad was driving . Her mother was in the back seat with her brothers two babies, one thirteen months old and one three years old. A loaded cattle truck ran them off the road and then turned over on them , killing all three in the back seat. Dawn was able to crawl out a broken window with her son , just minor cuts on them. Her dad had a broken back with head truma. If God was in the front seat ? Why couldn't he have been in the back seat too ? I believe in God with all my heart , some things just have no answer. |

I believe in God and still can respect another persons faith. The Muslims do have some beautiful beliefs and so do many other faiths. I learned alot about the Jewish faith when I was living in the Catskills. Many wonderful things there too. But I am a Christian and believe in God and Jesus. Sometimes I think the God I believe in is different than other Christians see. My God welcomes and loves everyone. Regardless of past sins or sexual orientation. Everyone is loved by my God. |

Willow, I am not sure if you are asking for a reply or not but just something to hopefully comfort you. I am so sorry for your loss. I think that God was in the back seat too because he wrapped them in his loving arms and carried them home, not to mention the fact that he didn't place the loss of 6 people on your family his grace and love reduce the tragedy to half. It is never easy to loose some one we love and there is no rhyme or reason to God's plan but just by faith we know that he has one and He IS GREAT. Prayers and wishes to you. |
