Quote rei1: Congratulations to the New Haven, CT firefighters for their win!

They took a test to advance their careers and passed, but but their test were thrown out because none of the black/African American people who took that same test passed. There were 2 Latino that passed and their tests were also thrown out.

Seriously? Thats nuts! What was the excuse? Was it because the ones who passed(cause they probably studied)or did they try to say they cheated? It's ridiculous!! God forbid you get ahead because you work hard and study!! I guess it would be better if we all waited for a hand out!!

This didn't need to be about race....it was a test for the most quialified to be promoted.

Again Congratulations to the New Haven, CT firefighters.

** this can't look good for Sotomeyer...since she ruled against the firefighters **

Hi GE NII ..Guys,there is interesting article at Moscow Times regarding this next meeting between 2 leader.

U.S. President Barack Obama faces a major test of his leadership with his trip to Moscow to meet with Russian leaders. He has invested considerable political capital in the effort to “reset” relations with Russia, yet Moscow’s interests in such a “reset” remain dubious at best. While I have been a strong advocate of the spirit of “pressing the reset button” to improve U.S.-Russian relations, there is a flaw in the logic. The logic of “reset” rests on the assumption there is new leadership in Washington and Moscow ready to reconsider past policies, but the reality is that assumption is only true in Washington.

There should be no illusions about where ultimate decision-making authority in Russia resides today. The “tandem” is a fiction, of course. Obama must operate under the assumption that on any issue of importance to him — from nuclear arms reductions to Afghanistan to Iran — the ultimate arbiter for Russian policy is Putin.
This does not mean that meeting with Medvedev is a waste of time, but it must be assumed that every position taken by Medvedev has been blessed by his mentor. Obama must also harbor no illusion that the United States can take measures in Moscow to empower Medvedev or his Western-leaning colleagues in the government.

In a Campaign for Liberty video commentary, Ron Paul reveals that even though up to 20 Democrats opposed the controversial climate bill, they voted for it anyway, underscoring once again how the vast majority of Congress members are bought and paid for by the elite in Washington.

The Congressman points out that the eight Republicans who voted for the bill did so in order to provide political cover for the Democrats. Even if those Republicans had not defected, some of the 44 Democrats who voted against the bill would have changed their votes anyway to ensure the bill’s passage.

“One Democrat talked to me, a friend of mine,” said Paul, “and I said how are you going to vote on this bill and he said I’m going to vote for the bill but then he sort of whispered and he said, but I sure hope it doesn’t pass.”

Asked why he was voting for a bill that he actually opposed, the Democrat responded, “yeah I have to do that.”

“I said are there any other Democrats that are going to be voting for it and they really don’t like the bill, and he said, oh yeah about 15 or 20 of them,” added Paul.

This underlines how Washington is completely corrupt at its core and how, even if individual members of Congress oppose a bill, they vote for it anyway just to satisfy the agenda of the elite and maintain the status quo.

remember when I told you the Great Vladimir Putin has lots of respect not only in European continent but also many countries in the world, include the largest continent in the world ASIA.
Iam surprise with one article in Asian Times about Putin and the USA.

It said = If Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin were president of the United States, would Iran try to build a nuclear bomb? Would Pakistan provide covert aid to al-Qaeda? Would Hugo Chavez train terrorists in Venezuela? Would leftover nationalities with delusions of grandeur provoke the great powers? Just ask Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili, who now wishes he never tried to put his 4 million countrymen into strategic play.
Thanks to Putin, the world has become a much safer place. By
intervening in Georgia, Russia has demonstrated that the great powers of the world have nothing to fight about. Russia has wiped the floor with a putative US ally, and apart from a bad case of cream pie on the face, America has lost nothing. The United States and the European community will do nothing to help Georgia, and nothing of substance to penalize the Russian Federation.
Putin understands how to exercise power. Unlike Iraq, the restive Muslim province of Chechnya now nestles comfortably in Putin's palm, albeit with about half the people it had a decade ago. Russian troops killed between 35,000 and 100,000 civilians in the first Chechen war of 1994-96, and half a million were driven from their homes, totaling about half the population. But that is not what pacified Chechnya. Putin bribed and bullied Chechen clans to do Russia's dirty work for it, showing himself a master at the game of divide-and-conquer. Working from a position of weakness, Russia's president is the closest the modern world comes to the insidious strategic genius of a Cardinal Richelieu. That is the sort of strategic thinking America needs.
there are few similar opinion about him as a great leader for great country like USA.

Sara Palin has resigned partly because of the 18 unwarrented and silly ethics charges that have been leveled against her in the last 10 months. Fighting and WINNING these charges have cost her personally a half million dollars, and the tax payers 2 million. She is aware that the petty left wing liberal idiots have no intention of stopping this evil, so she is resigning in order to stop the blood bath, and protect the state.
I admire her for knowing when to "pass the ball" as she said in her speech. Knowing when to get out of the shark pool, in order to live to fight another day is an intelligent move.

Enjoyed this post Lilamoor. I have been out of town & unable to follow the 'Palin is resigning' news as closley as I'd like to. I admire her & I trust that, whatever her motives, her family & her constituents in Alaska are on her heart & mind. The absurd investigations - which cost her & the tax payers money & have all proved fruitless - along with the lashing she & her family have taken (that continues even after the presidential campaign is over) has been ridiculous.

The Letterman fiasco was horrible - as was the fact that liberal women laughed right along with the stewardess (it won't let me type s***) jokes & the jokes about her daughter being knocked up by a pro ball player. Regardless of which daughter Letterman thought was at the baseball game, the joke was tacky & I am glad many of his advertisers pulled their spots.

Anyway, I still say she was as - or more - experienced than Obama & as the economy continues to fall apart & Obama bumbles from one foreign policy mistake to the next, I say BO is making the case for his inexperience with each passing day.

Whoever runs, 2012 can't get here soon enough. Whether she's done with politics for good or gearing up for a presidential bid, I wish Palin the best.

Sarah is a brave woman. She is the right United States Citizen to lead the Conservative Party and our country-I fear for her, but I pray that God will help her and her family. The things they have withstood from the liberal media have been shocking, disgusting, and despicable. Creep Letterman is a disgusting pig(sorry pigs)-anyone who uses his fellow man as a means of mockery and insults to garner a few laughs is pathetic-It pisses me off that they continue to bash such a committed woman who represents me and all I believe in. But if Sarah has the faith to fight for our liberty and freedom despite the lies and trash that has been thrown at her, then my courage is renewed. She represents ME, she articulates exactly what I believe, she speaks the truth, and she gives me hope for a future. This is the kind of "CHANGE" America NEEDS!! Go Sarah! Go Sarah! Go Sarah,GO!!!

With all the dirt in the current administration.....and the President HIMSELF being ILLEGALLY in the White House......folks BETTER be worried over HIM.....not Sarah......THERE IS NO SCANDAL.....GET OVER IT !!!!
Sarah stepped down to have time to do other things she could NOT do as Alaska's Governor-additionally, they over ruled her decision to NOT accept alot of the stimulus funds and they took it ANYHOW.....Sarah didn't think that was a good decision for Alaska..

I adore Sarah Palin, she is indeed a brave and lovely woman,I also think she is more experience than Obama as Rudy Giulani former mayor of NY said also last year during the Mc Cain campaign.
I will keep supporting all her good works, hope she will be success to make a different for the people not only in Alaska but our country.
