Quote Island Gurl: I think I heard the discussion about oil reserve we have in this country from CNBC business channel while back ago,the person said that we have so much oil reserve which actually we dont need to import from Saudi if Gov. allow to explore these black gold,he speculate that the Gov. are smart enough to wait until all the reserves in the world dry up then they will start using our oil,its just statement but seem make sense to me

Iam watching Glen Beck show at this moment,I feel for this guy Angelo from New Jersey,he was just notified by Chrysler that they will close his dealership,he said he has been in that business for more than 4 decades.
according to Fox's poll 71% people want small/less Goverment involvement compare to 17% the opposite

The Senate voted Wednesday to block funding for Obama's plan to close the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, deciding overwhelmingly to delay funding until the administration details what will be done with the 240 detainees being held there.

The 90-6 vote came one day after Senate Democrats said they would not more forward with plans to close the prison until they had a comprehensive plan to deal with the detainees. Democrats have generally supported the notion of closing Guantanamo, but party leaders appear undecided on how that should play out and Republicans have criticized the plan as jeopardizing national security.
thats good ,finally Dems. and Reps. come to their senses.
who want to have terrorist on their backyard anyway,if they do then they should have it who ever suggest it

Iam not afraid of anything but I think the Gov. has to have secure plan to place these detainees, perhaps in Washington DC jail, thats a thought ! close to all those politicians

Obama's choice to replace Souter appears to be Sonia Sotomayor. According to the New York Times:

www.nytimes.com/2009/05/15/us/15judge.html

This month a video surfaced of Judge Sotomayor asserting in 2005 that a “court of appeals is where policy is made.” She then immediately adds: “And I know — I know this is on tape, and I should never say that because we don’t make law. I know. O.K. I know. I’m not promoting it. I’m not advocating it. I’m — you know.”

Editing to add the video link:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfC99LrrM2Q

So she knows appeals courts don't make law, but she still feels courts of appeal are where policy is made...hmmmm, that is interesting. I sure hope her written opinions are this clear! Boy Scalia & Thomas are going to take this woman to town, intellectually speaking.

"The Case Against Sotomayor"
by The New Republic's legal affairs editor Jeff Rosen

Over the past few weeks, I've been talking to a range of people who have worked with her, nearly all of them former law clerks for other judges on the Second Circuit or former federal prosecutors in New York. Most are Democrats and all of them want President Obama to appoint a judicial star of the highest intellectual caliber who has the potential to change the direction of the court. Nearly all of them acknowledged that Sotomayor is a presumptive front-runner, but nearly none of them raved about her. They expressed questions about her temperament, her judicial craftsmanship, and most of all, her ability to provide an intellectual counterweight to the conservative justices, as well as a clear liberal alternative.
The most consistent concern was that Sotomayor, although an able lawyer, was "not that smart and kind of a bully on the bench," as one former Second Circuit clerk for another judge put it. "She has an inflated opinion of herself, and is domineering during oral arguments, but her questions aren't penetrating and don't get to the heart of the issue."

So they want a liberal, obviously, but they would prefer an intelligent one who can go toe to toe with Scalia, Thomas, etc. & though she's clearly liberal, as Rosen states:
"Her opinions, although competent, are viewed by former prosecutors as not especially clean or tight, and sometimes miss the forest for the trees."

She also dismissed a case for 4 fire fighters, I believe they were, saying they were being discriminated against in Dteriot and passed over for less qualified minorities. Her comment after the dismissal? White people can't be discriminated against....
Now, last I checked, white people are all over the world. They are democrat, republican, green, communist, independent...why do no white people rage against this -other than talk radio? Why do the media not have a field day with this? Oh yea...

Hi Girls, its been long time,I have been very busy in real life, dont have much time to post here lately, but I always enjoy chatting at yahoo with our Dems. friends there whenever I got the chance .
its more obvious now that I like Vlad more and more since he is tough to criminals, illegal immigrants and put country first whatever it takes and cost,I agree with Dimitry if democracy included everyone rights to dislike anyone with ANY reasons as long as we are not physically hurt that person, well I understand that their country dont like minority at all in most cases, they try to kick them out .
as far as Race concern,as we all know USA is one of the friendliest nation in the world to minorities and immigrants,I know that for fact since I have been travelling the world and live short while in some countries.
many people dont realize how lucky they are to live in USA. they will have culture shock if they ever gone to some of these countries.
I agree with most of his view about politic in the USA and Russia, only one thing I strongly disagree which I put God first before Science and he said the opposite,we have very productive discussion, much better than our Dems. friend, since Dimitry is very reason and intelligent although he is skinhead gang member

Ungratefull and stupidity cause weaken of the nation, some idiots will always learn the hard way, then they forgot where they come from and made similar mistakes again over and over till they disappear.
I always prefer to communicate with open minded people who truly knows how the world is work not by listen to the Bias main stream liberal media but actual event experience, most of our friends has been travel and stay overseas for a while,so we know exactly where we stand to the world.
these media made me laugh often, because of their hypocrisy and exaceration.
I dont really care with what politician in Washington at present, but nothing ever change my respect to our military and their loves one also people who 'truly' care for this country and share the same opinion with us.
I admire Dimitry as Russian he has more knowledge than many people I chat here in this country, beside he speaks several languages fluently, things that we dont see many here also .
some of us are independent and Reps. but we share the same value and opinion.

oh yes thats for sure,Human Nature -they usually forget when everything is smooth but when disaster happen they will start moaning and whining again, too spoiled and stupidity -thats what happen for many people outthere.
this is from Ann Coulter,I got it on May 27 on my daily email subcriber Human Events.com - quote :God save us from liberal "empathy." After Barack Obama announced his empathetic Supreme Court nominee this week, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, we found out that some people are more deserving of empathy than others.

For example, Judge Sotomayor apparently "empathized" more with New Haven, Conn., government officials than with white and Hispanic firefighters who were denied promotions by the city on the basis of their race.

Let's hope she's as empathetic to New Haven residents who die in fires fought by inferior firefighters as a result of her decision."
believe me guys Iam all sold to the great Vlad,he is awesome leader indeed

Hell Yeah P M Vladimir Putin has been my Fave for very long time even before this Democrat took power in the White House and when he was President.
He is The Best Leader from another country I have ever known,I learn a lot about his life, career and his remarkable leadership, of course we had the best here such ex President Ronald Reagan ....he was amazing.
I have some pictures of Vlad when he visit Pres. G W Bush in Maine along with G W B senior and Condoleeza Rice.
Dimitry said terrorist will think twice before they mess with Russia since they know Vlad will destroy them to their root, remember the Video of that Russian Army killing rampage to the terrorist rebels ? that kind of leadership whose unmatched by anyone at this present time.
first time I have ever jealous with the Russian to have someone as good as Vlad.
thanks for the Rush Limbaugh clip,I really enjoy it,love him

Pat Buchanan on Obama's judicial nominee:

www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=32064

Speaking at Duke in 2005, Sotomayor declared: "(The) court of appeals is where policy is made. I know this is on tape, and I should never say that because we don't make law I know." She and the audience joined in the laughter.

Who were they laughing at? Americans who still believe the role of judges is to apply the Constitution as the Framers intended and to interpret the law as written by our elected legislators.

In Barack Obama's America, that is so yesterday.

A group named Conservatives for Patients' Rights purchased time on Washington, D.C.'s NBC 4 to air a 30-minute broadcast Sunday after "Meet the Press." The group describes it as a " '60 Minutes'-style documentary" that will "let people see the very real consequences of letting the government take over their health care decisions."

Bay Buchanan pulls no punches:

"Obama Picks a Bigot for the High Court"

www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=32075

A few gems from her article -

President Obama has chosen Judge Sonia Sotomayor to replace Justice David Souter. Good riddance to Souter and thanks for nineteen years of nothing. As for Sonia, she’s the Left’s dream nominee: a proud judicial activist out to amend perceived societal wrongs and extract justice as she feels fit -- let The Constitution be damned. “The Court of Appeals,” she said, “is where policy is made” and that is exactly what she’s done for the last decade.

Imagine if Justice Roberts had delivered a speech entitled “A Male Anglo-Saxon Judge’s Voice” in which he said: “I would hope that a wise white man with the richness of his experience would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a Latino (or Black) woman who hasn’t lived that life.” The Left would have screamed “Racist!” from the roof tops until Roberts’ name was pulled from consideration.

It's nice how the prerequisite to being a 'racist' or a 'bigot' is to be a white male...if you're not a white male, you apparently are born with a free pass to say whatever racist, asinine remarks you want (*think Jeremiah Wright*) & - oh wait - that's right, you've also won a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court!
