I heard the same thing on the outfit. I also heard from McCains own mouth that he had many affairs on his wife. This was after she waited for him all those years. Cindy was one of these women and they married soon after his divorce. Cindy was 25 when they married.

I didn't hear anything about the outfit, but hey, if you have the money, why not? Not a big deal to me. Neither was Edward's $300 haircut.

But I did hear that he did leave his wife in a wheelchair for Cindy. But I really don't care about that either. I would be a hypocrit if I cared about that since I said that Bill's indescretions with Monica didn't matter to him being the president. Let them all cheat. What does it matter. As long as they can do the job.

Just my 1.5 cents worth. I realize Cindy McCain is very wealthy and believe she has every right to spend whatever amount of money she wants to spend on her outfits. But i think anyone in her position (husband running for the Presidency) knowing how much the average person is struggling in this country with the loss of jobs, unemployment at an all time high, families suffering due to this economy would ton it down alittle just to show some compassion. Unless of course she donates her dresses to a good cause.

fffffffffffffffffffffft Sunny, I just heard a commercial (we all know we can believe those lol) that has Bush and McCain saying that the economy is fundamentally strong. Not in MI!

But I do know that the reds are not willing to say that we are in a recession yet.

I don't think fundamentally strong means that everyone is filthy rich...I think it means that we are not going to face another Great Depression, which we are not. I don't think we are technically in a recession.

Regarding Cindy McCain, her father was a wealthy man & so she has tons & tons of money. Her father earned all of it - started with nothing - & Cindy has been generous over the years with both her money & her time. If my husband were being nominated to serve as President of the U.S. & I was going to be on national television, I'd spend a good bit on my outfit(s)too. I haven't really heard anything about what her clothes cost, but I thought she looked great.

I doubt her clothes cost more than it cost to set up & secure Invesco Field where Obama delivered his speech. I read an article about how many extra men the Secret Service had to use, & I believe the tax payers pick up that tab.

Really? Wow not me. I guess i would feel guilty spending $300,000.00 on one dress while millions are having trouble paying for everyday life. But thats just me.

I didn't say that EJ. Fundamentally strong doesn't equal filthy rich. But take a state like Michigan - we have lost almost 1/2 million jobs, corporations get tax breaks for shipping overseas and taking their work overseas which puts our unemployment numbers higher, Don't forget about the oil companies. I wont even stop at a mobil/marathon....I think what Obama said about having them issue another rebate check is stupid, but they don't need to get more of my money, When you look at the average household income in MI we are down over 10%, our home foreclosure rate is the highest it has ever been. That doesn't sound like a fundamentally sound economy to me. The housing crisis up here is very real.

I find it odd that the government will bail out airline companies (remember that)? but are blaming the average american for buying an inflated priced home.... If you were looking for a house a few years ago, you had to pay what the market was worth. Now we are bottomed out. There should be some relief.

I know that you and I are on complete different sides, but I hope that we can keep this thread cordial.
