Childhood Memory?! Well, let me see. * I was just a little girl & every Friday night my mother would bundle me & my 2 brothers up (I was 11 & they were 7 & 1) & we would go grocery shopping. We would then stop by to see my grandparents. Mom & my brothers would stay with Grandpa while Grandma & I would walk to the Library. The Library was this old Historic building & still is. I could get out 3 books & I always did. This is where my Love Affair with books started & is still going strong!! |

My memory was a scary one for me. I was terrified everyday in kindergarden that they would not take me back home. I missed my mommy so much and I cried every single day. The poor assistant teacher would take me outside and walk me around the playground while the others where in class hoping to make me get over it. Didn't work! They moved my desk directly by the fish tank so I could watch it all day. That was nice but I still cried. I just knew that big yellow bus would not take me home to her at the end of the day. |

That was some Seperation Anxiety. Too bad you never told your Mom. That was an awful lot for a little girl to carry in her heart!! I really think a lot of children have experiences similar to this. Leaving home for school is certainly one of the most traumatic & terrifying times for us as children. |

My childhood memory is kind of a scary/funny one. I think it was anywhere from 1994-96. I was either in preschool or first grade. Anyways, this crazy woman was standing in the rain and then she jumped on a car and was about to attack the woman in the car. That image terrified me for years |

That image terrified me for years Years later, thanks to YouTube, I found out my memory was actually a promo for The Bold and the Beautiful featuring Sheila Carter and Lauren Fenmore. and in no way is this meant to disrespect you or your family, but this is the exact reason not to let your young ones watch anything that is controversal.whether it be soaps or movies..i know people say "hey it's the times" well parents we need to protect our children from "the times" thats the only way to CHANGE "the times" little by little.lets get our children back to being CHILDREN! |

My favorite childhood memory was visiting my grandma in Texas in the summertime. |

Quote tink55: My favorite childhood memory was visiting my grandma in Texas in the summertime. And seeing fireflies for the first time. I was so fascinated by them. I used to chase them all over the yard and try to catch them in a glass jar. I have always loved the fireflies too. I have run many miles through the yard barefoot at nights catching them. I still do catch a few just fun. It is like a tradition around here. My mom would get so mad cause we would take our jars full and turn them loose in our bedroom at night so we could go to sleep watching them flashing on and off in our room. Mom didn't like insects all over the house. Those were awesome times...wish I could go back to those days. |

I just LOVED Saturdays. My Mom, would get all 5 of us children rounded up, and into the station wagon, then we were off to the 'Farmers Market' to shop for fresh food. At the farmers market, their was this one very old, very nice farmer. He always greated my brothers and sisters and I, with a shiny NEW penny...ONE, for each of us... |
