Good Sunday Morning Gang:

Thanks for all the well wishes for my mom. I have been very under the weather since Thursday and had a really bad reaction after I took the Klonopin that I periodically take for my jaw pain. Last night, I was shaking so uncontrollably that my husband thought that I was having convulsions. I couldn't stop chattering my teeth. He wanted to take me to the hospital but I refused to go. I felt dehydrated and couldn't stop drinking H2O. I first felt very cold and then broke out in a massive sweat and felt so weak I couldn't lift my head from the pillow.

I pray to GOD that I don't have Lyme disease. I hope it is just from the Klonopin and trying to run errands in the hot sun. I have no patience when I don't feel well. Plus, I have to drive mom to chemo tomorrow so I need this like a hole in the head. I rarely take that drug anymore for pain but I never had this kind of bad reaction in the past. It does give me headaches though. The way I was shaking, you would think I was coming off of heroin

I was paying attention to what you all wrote about office politics. The workforce really sucks because people stab each other in the back. I think as times get tougher, it is getting worse. Basically, the only survival skill is to mind your own business....but that is not an easy feat.

DQ (Jess): I did go over there and see where tunes has posted. I am glad that she is back and doing well...just very busy.

Kariad: Don't think too much about the dog decision. let your heart guide you. There are so many dogs that need a loving home. Go for it!!! You will never have a best friend that loves you unconditionally like a dog.

Megan Nicole: Sorry that you are being worked to death. That sucks. Companies mottos are..."Do more with less."

Sorry to hear about your recent ailment Dakota. I hate being sick. Also your mother. What kind of cancer does she have? I am extremely empathetic when it comes to mothers with cancer I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was 16. Sorry, not to make you feel worried or anything. My mother was in denial, and thought her breast lumps were muscles from doing yoga. Might've been a different story if she would've been on it from the get.

Anyways, glad I finally found this forum so I can participate in regular conversations too.

My mom has lung cancer. I have a thread going on here in the lounge. Feel free to add your post. That is very sad that you lost your mom at such a young age. Life just isn't fair at all.

DQ (Jess): Thanks!! I am still trying to hydrate and I am so thirsty that I feel like I could drink an ocean.

Good Sunday evening, everyone! I hope you all enjoyed an easy, relaxing day. I partied hard last night for my birthday, but this morning I woke up feeling great, so it's all good. Technically my birthday is tomorrow, the 23rd, but Mondays just aren't as fun as Saturdays. We went to see the Pirates vs. Blue Jays baseball game... of course we lost, but it was truly a gorgeous day for sitting in the stands, drinking a few beers and eating nachos... mmmm... plus watching all of those cute players!

I read through another few weeks of "lounge chatter", so I think I'm pretty caught up and should be able to follow along... please bare with me & correct me if I sound like I don't know what I'm talking about!

I'm sorry to to hear about your mom, Dakota. Your positive outlook is really a valuable thing to have during this trying time. Especially when you're not feeling 100% yourself. You both are in my prayers, and I hope to hear good things soon.

Tess, I'm from the other side of PA... in a suburb of Pittsburgh. But, I have been to Philadelphia to visit friends, and I actually taught in Kensington High School for a month during college as part of an "Urban Experience" program. Can I just say "WOW-ZA!" about that month... it really opened my eyes to the challenges that inner city kids face. Other parts of the city were beautiful, however, and I hope to get back out there soon... it is just straight on the turnpike after all.

Hey all! ..I read about the office politics and I laughed becuase pretty much that is what I am going through right now. Will never understand why folks just can't mind their business and leave people alone. If they actually did their own workthey would not have time to report what everyone else is doing or not doing..

Sher, wow..Kensington High...bet that was a troublesome week for you!! I never went to that school, but I know it's not one of the best in the city...glad you made it out okay! I'm sure it was a great experience though..well I hope everyone is great, I'm busy here at work so I'll check back later!

speechless: Glad you stopped in. Yes, When I was working I always felt that office politics was more stressful then the job itself. God forbid if you took a moment to yourself to breathe...you might be called a slacker!!
I am not sure why the workforce is the way it is. Working with women is usually worse when it comes to backstabbing, but not always!!
