Pippo:

I told her to drink alot but the doctor's told her not to. They told her that the cancer is producing anti-diuretic hormone and that is causing her sodium levels to be too low. She is prob the one person in America who is supposed to be on a HIGH salt diet due to this.

My step father had lung cancer they had to remove a 1/2 his lung and from there he went down hill, my mom told me if they caught it earlier it probably would not have spread to his brain, I am truly sorry for anybody who has to watch a love one suffer. It really is somehting you will never forget unfornatley

Hi Dakota, This is the first time I've heard of this unusual twist...hang tough and keep the faith. I've got candles burnin' for you and mom...and keep you both in my prayers...

Hey Dakota((((wow))))~~~ Girl you are a very strong person, thank God for the support you are recieving. This is my first here and reading through I have many tears (Niagra Falls).

Bless your mom, she is just as strong as you. The pain of seeing a love one suffer day in and out is the most test that God can throw your way. And with these test don't let negative come in. If you let it stress will take over and you would be absolutely no good for your mom or yourself.

Your family will be inflected as well. Now is a time to heal and let God and all your supporters worry about everything eles. You keep up the incredible work your doing and remember "La Chica de Puerto Rico Loves you"

Believe me when I say that.

OH!~~~~~ Happy Birthday ~~~~~~

Just a little note...I've tried to quit smoking, and I have Dakota to thank for that, the situation she is dealing with, along with some things in my own family have made me realize that I don't want my children to have to suffer because of my bad habits....it hasn't been easy, and I haven't quit completely, but I've cut back big time, and pray daily for the strength to be able to put those nasty things down, forever! I just wanted to thank Dakota for playing an important part in my wanting to quit!! Dakota stay strong for your mom, and I continue to pray for your family daily....your strength is an inspiration to all of us! Love you!

Quote Dakota 4762: suchi: She is not on a liquid diet but a soft diet.

DQ (Jess): Thanks to the info. I have mom prepared for either the constipation or the diarrhea that could happen. I know this isn't a pleasant subject to post about on a web thread but it is part of the side effects of the treatment.

Hey Dakota,

Your Very Welcome. Another thing that will probably be a pain for her might be the homoroids also!! Nanny had a hard time with those also!! You and your mom are still in my prayers!!

Dakota,

Just wanted to tell you that youare in my thoughts and prayers daily!!!

I have had three relatives pass on after battling with lung cancer, the problem was their's was not found until it was too late. They all three had something else wrong and the doc's were never looking for the cancer.

I am sure that your mom will come out of this strong. I know it is hard to stay strong, but you will be fine especially with all of us behind you and praying with you.

My mother's cancer was also discovered late. She is in stage 4 which means that it has spread beyond the lung into the lymph nodes and liver. The doctors told us that they can't save her life. They only hope to extend it by a few months.

Thank you Brandy for sharing your story and for your kind words and prayers.
