Everyone who keeps posting on this board...YOU ROCK!!

Still trying to reach as wide of an audience as I can.

Mom is in good spirits but a bit confused from time to time and tired. I think the confusion is just from being overwhelmed with everything.

THANKS FOR ASKING EVERYONE!!!

Quote Suchi: How is your mom doing Dakota? Stay strong. praying for you and your mom.

Suchi (and everyone else):

Mom is starting to have problems now from the chemo. She is very tired and having trouble swallowing. I am going to the Farmer's Market to get some fresh veggies to puree for her later on today.

Everyone who is a smoker, former smoker, or non smoker living with or around smokers....please feel free to add your story. I love to hear from all of you. Thanks in advance!!
I feel that we can all do our part to help spread the word.

Hey Dakota,

Nanny was the same way when she had her Chemo!! Tired and stuff the other thing was that she had problems swallowing because she said it was either too hot or too cold in her mouth!! The other thing is she says that the food or drink she had didn't taste right!! You are in my prayers and your mom too!! We are still here for you and love you!!

Cheryl:

I sent you an email the other day and it came back to me as unrecognized. Not sure why because I got your email off of here. I was trying to keep you in the loop about what is going on. I will try again and let you know how I make out.

Thank you for keeping those candles burnin'!!
I guess you must be very busy with the end of the school year stuff. My hubby works for the school and he is putting in a 16 hour day today for graduation. To top it off, the heat index is reaching 102 later on today!! YIKES!!!

suchi: She is not on a liquid diet but a soft diet.

DQ (Jess): Thanks to the info. I have mom prepared for either the constipation or the diarrhea that could happen. I know this isn't a pleasant subject to post about on a web thread but it is part of the side effects of the treatment.

Cheryl, Thanks for the kind thought! Back problems, oh no! I can relate, my lower back does out from time to time, very painful. Don't worry about getting work done around the house, there will be plenty of time for that later. Now take are of you!

My husband had constipation for a long time. Laxatives didn't help. Had to resort to Fleet enemas. Then we started making him drink at least 1 ensure (after he lost all appitite), that brought diarrhea!

Thanks Cheryl!!

The week after chemo the patient is tired and week until the blood counts come back up which is supposed to happen in the second week. Then week 3 starts up the next round of chemo. It is an emotional rollarcoaster for those of us that have to try and stay strong around them and deal with the chemo brain. That is the confusion that they feel.
