Quote mommyof1: BORN4AMC- Hey sweetie soory didn't respond sooner, my husbands banquet was Friday night and he recieved two medals and a glass plaque. The weekend was very hectic with Greek Easter and yada yada yada. Okay I know how you feel about the changes, it seems whomever goes over seas or a long extended trip when they come home they become irritable. My husband hasn't done it in awhile but when he first got in the military and started long extended trips, when he got home he would be very irritable and explode atthe drop of a hat. Tell your honey that he needs to express his feelings before he has another episode, especially after coming home from a trip. He might need special counseling. Even though your not married you might want to go with him and see what the counselor has to say, so you know what or how to react or do with the problem. Now if YOU ever need to talk to someone I'm here honey I'm not a proffesional but I've have 12 years experience LOL. Keep in touch. Bye the way my name is Crystle mommie, you gave BORN4AMC good advice. It must be very hard when they come home from deployment. In their hearts, they know they are safe again but, having lived every day in a war zone, where there is the constant threat of danger, it is very understandable that they would remain watchful and on guard in crowds here at home. It is their training and they do it well, thank God. We just have to remember that they've seen a lot over there and, because they have, they deserve every ounce of patience and love we can give them. In time, they will feel easier about relating what went on. Until then, just be there for them. Blessings to all of our service men and women and to those who love them. We honor all of you for your great sacrifices for all of us. MaryAnn42 |

Thanks alot M.A. what Born4Amc just told me my husband did the same exact thing when he came home from his first deployment. It's noteasy for the men and women when they come home. After being in a situation for soooo long when you come home it's so hard to adjust to be able to relax. |

hello everyone! i am up late and not able to sleep. i watched a movie with my husband last night with lawrence fishbourne in it about a medical unit in a convoy that basically got blown up. i am sorry but i now cannot remember the name. it dealt with ptsd of all the ones who made it back to the states. it had me so upset for all the guys and girl. you know, this is and will continue to be a horrible plaque that our soilders will deal with from time to time. i was once diagnoised with that when i was young due to a severe trauma and i still have problems dealing with the events from time to time. hence that is one major reason i am up now at about 3am. i feel for so many of them. if i was younger and entering college i would go for a psy major so i could be a therapist to help all those soilders to come. it will be going on for years. it takes a special person to be able to help people with it. i thought of 3 young girls i know that is about to enter college and they still are open to suggestions about their major. i plan to discuss this plight with them. it would be going on for so long that they could actually make a career out of it. it would also be a way to deploy your self into the war, as i see it you would be providing a great service to your country. if any of yall know some young students you might want to think about it. there is always going to be a need for ptsd specialist in our country. |

My two best friends husbands left yesterday on a six month deployment. I feel so sad for them for my one girlfriend will be having her daughter in 5 weeks without Barry being here to see the miracle happen. |
